SZA season remains in full effect!

As if watching her album, ‘SOS,’ earn a historic fifth run atop the Billboard 200 this week isn’t enough to celebrate (as we reported here), the top-selling set sees its standout cut, ‘Kill Bill,’ carve yet another week in the Hot 100’s top 5.

Originally predicted to secure the tally’s top spot, the Carter Lang-produced smash was outpaced by Taylor Swift‘s ongoing ‘Midnights‘ hit, ‘Anti-Hero,’ for the win.  And while ‘Bill’ managed to land at #2 on the updated edition of the Hot 100, the placement still comes as a relative victory for SZA as it marks the highest rung she’s reached on the hitlist by her lonesome to date.

Prior to the top 5 entry of ‘Kill,’ she enjoyed a #3 peak as assistant on Doja Cat‘s 2021’s ‘Planet HER.’

In 2022, Mo’Nique and Lee Daniels shocked their respective fans when they not only called a truce in their 13-year feud but also announced they were hard at work on a reunion project for Netflix.

That film is apparently one of many the reconciled dynamic duo have up their sleeves as BET+ has dropped the trailer for ‘The Reading’ – a psychological thriller that sees Mo portray a widow who battles demonic possession after staging a psychic reading.

Produced by Daniels and serving as the directorial debut of Courtney Glaudé, the movie stars a slew of familiar faces like Chasity Sereal, Denisha Hardeman,  Ian Haywood, Charnele Brown, and more.

“I am a fan of the surgical performance by Mo’Nique,” shared Glaudé. “I appreciate the dedication to bringing this, as I was told, ‘sick’ vision of mine to the screen; and of course Lee Daniels for being crazy enough to Executive Produce the project and believing in me. I can’t wait for the audience to think they know, but have no idea what’s going to happen. I promise you…it’s crazy.”

A$AP Rocky may be loading his new LP, ‘Don’t Be Dumb,‘ for release later this year, but anxious fans – who haven’t gotten a new studio effort from the rapper since 2018’s ‘Testing‘ – have been spinning the hell out of his former hits to tide them over until the forthcoming set’s release.

Evidence of this came recently when the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced a slew of the GRAMMY nominee’s singles had received certification upgrades.
