In an interview with WENN, Beyonce’s younger sister Solanage offered advice to 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears – the pregnant sister of troubled pop star Britney Spears:
“I have been so blessed that my son is the coolest kid ever. Of course, that first year of not sleeping and just being dedicated to him had tough parts but that’s fine. It’s been a blast for me. A lot of people have doubts, but when you have a child I think it takes a really non-emotional person not to have a blast, no matter what age. I’ve heard stories of people who were 14 that had kids and basically snapped into it and got into the groove of motherhood. As many of you know, Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman welcomed their new son Max into the world on Saturday. After the news of baby’s arrival, Christina released this new video for ‘Save Me From Myself’ to celebrate with her fans and thank them for their support (hence I’m assuming it’s not a proper release). Included in the vid is never-before seen footage of the couple’s wedding. Anyway, having been, somewhat, underwhelmed by Christina’s ‘Back To Basics’ CD, I’m glad she released this…it’s a great song.

R&B singer Craig David serves up ‘6 Of 1 Thing’ as the 2nd single to be lifted from his current album ‘Trust Me’. After a difficult few years, Craig seems to be finding himself musically again. Both the song and video are leaps and bounds better than that shambles of a first single ‘Hot Stuff.

The promotional campaign for Janet Jackson’s latest album ‘Discipline’ continues, with the star appearing on the cover of the latest issue of Billboard magazine. MTV’s lack of support for Janet since ‘the incident’ has been well-publicized and hotly debated. It’s worth noting that the network did add ‘So Excited’ (from Janet’s last album ’20 Y.O) to their video schedule – only opting to play it at graveyard times. Whether the video for ‘Feedback’ gets the same treatment will be interesting to see.

Singer Kelis made an appearance at the movie premiere for ‘First Sunday’ (starring Ice Cube and Katt Williams) yesterday. Ms. Jones was looking good. On a side note, I’m hoping she gets snapped up by another label soon (having parted ways with Jive late last year); the industry needs artists like her.

The coroners report on the death of Kanye West’s mom, Dr. Donda West, was made public today. According to the report, West died of ‘coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty’. Put simply, she had a heart attack after the surgery. A definitive cause of death, therefore, could not be established. Dr. West died on November 10th. {Source}Here’s hoping Kanye pull through, what must still be a very difficult time.
