‘Pink Pony Club’ performer Chappell Roan rode to the top of headlines on Sunday night (February 2) when she not only captured Best New Artist at the 67th annual GRAMMY Awards but also lifted a stirring acceptance speech calling out record labels for not supporting up-and-coming artists with “a livable wage and health care.”

While her brazen statements earned cheers from audience members and droves of supporters online, Jeff Rabhan – a music industry executive and guest writer at ‘The Hollywood Reporter (THR)’ – was none-too-impressed as evidenced by his scathing op-ed on the news outlet’s official site.

With anticipation building for her comeback EP (due later this year), singer-songwriter Melanie Fiona is meeting the moment by releasing even more of the new music expected to line the set’s tracklist.

“Perfect picture in a broken frame and / No one ever sees the broken pieces of the painting,” Mel sings soulfully over Andre Harris production.

At the time of the song’s unveiling, the 2x GRAMMY winner said ‘Mona’ serves as an “homage to all the brave, broken, beautiful [women who are] works of art…anyone holding it together despite wanting to fall apart.”
