Despite a number of false-starts, Ciara‘s ‘Basic Instinct’ project appears to be back on track. As previously reported, the 24 year old is set to follow-up the Urban smash that was ‘Ride’ with dual-singles ‘Gimme Dat’ and ‘Speechless’.
With both performing well on US radio (particularly ‘Speechless’, which is exploding prior to its official add date), the 24 year is reportedly set to shoot the video for each within the next two weeks.
Regardless of the delays, if there’s one arena you can’t fault Ms. Harris on, it’s her videos. No doubt she’ll ‘bring it’ and then some.

Katy Perry has captured to top spot on the US album charts, forcing Fantasia to settle for the #2 position. Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ managed to sell over 194k units while her R&B counterpart’s new album, ‘Back To Me’, opened with just 122k copies sold. This marks the 1st time that 1 of Perry’s albums has debuted at #1 in the US.
Another notable entry on this week’s tally was Usher’s ‘Versus’ EP which opened in the #4 position with 48k units sold. Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ album remains in the top 3 selling another 98.7k units. {Source}
Our friends at Def Pen Radio unveiled Keri Hilson’s ‘Breaking Point’ single cover. The song stands as the 1st official single from her new studio album which will be released later this year.
Ne-Yo met up with ‘Hello Beautiful’ to promote his new album, ‘Libra Scale’, which hits stores on October 19th. During the discussion the singer/songwriter revealed that the mother of his child is actually his best friend and that he has decided to stop fighting rumours relating to his sexuality.
