After taking a moment away from the spotlight to become a mother, Tyra Banks is back and firing from all cylinders.

Fresh from being announced as host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ and returning to ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ the super-mogul confirmed the sequel to her much-loved TV movie ‘Life-Size.’

Taking to Twitter, the 43-year-old sent the net into a frenzy with the following news…

Variety followed with additional details.

‘Life-Size 2’ has been officially commissioned by Freeform, the sister network of the Disney Channel, which along with ABC, was home to the original 2000 telepic.

The news comes after a lengthy period of negotiations and development dating back to 2015, when Banks  said of the sequel:

“There is no one else that can play Eve but me, thank you very much! I’m just joking with you, but yes, I am going to be Eve.

So what will ‘Life-Size 2’ be about?

Well, Banks will reprise her revered role as Eve – a doll that comes to life.

This go round though, she’s all grown up and magically woken to help a young woman learn to live and love again. As the story progresses, Eve herself experiences the highs and lows of real life in a narrative described by the network as a “fun, edgy, modern Christmas movie.”

Further news on the cast has yet to be divulged, however it appears Lindsay Lohan will not feature. For when asked about the story during the development stage, Banks told reporters:

“We have not talked about casting at all so I have no idea who is going to be the young person that will be the owner of Eve. We haven’t gotten to that.”

With Lohan’s role being the “young person” from 17 years ago, it’s unlikely she’s aboard. Still, anything can happen.

In any case, the movie will air on Freeform in December 2018 and forms part of the network’s popular ’25 Days of Christmas’ programming slate.

Ever of her entrepreneurial hustle, Banks will also serve as executive producer on ‘Life-Size 2.’ Cha-Ching!

Just as rumors about the reboot of juggernaut reality singing competition series, ‘American Idol,’ were laid to rest last week, the show’s network home – FOX – has announced its intent to revive another historic talent show:  ‘Showtime at the Apollo.’

As we reported here in October 2016, Steve Harvey (the series’ host from 1993-2000) joined FOX for an ‘Apollo’ special.  Fast forward months later, that venture was so well received the network has opted to restore it to a weekly, hourlong showing.  Set to kick off later this year, tuck inside for all the details:

Jennifer Hudson may have an Oscar to her name and an omnipresence in the acting arena, but she still has music on the mind.

Fresh from a successful stint on The Voice UK, the songbird has returned to the studio to work on her fourth studio album.

Having already served up a taste in the form of promo single ‘Remember Me,’ J.Hud stopped by Sway’s Universe to open up about the project.

Refreshingly candid, the powerhouse revealed that she finally understands herself as an artist – rather than just a voice.

She went on to elaborate that her approach this go round is to not merely be a vessel for a producer’s vision, but to relay her own views.

Peep the informative sit-down below…

Exciting.

As keen appreciators of Jennifer’s talent, we’ve been awaiting that definitive body of work that really showcases her as the caliber of artist she can be.

Listening to articulate her goal with this LP piques our interest.

Fingers crossed the finished project delivers.

Beyonce has got her legal team in ‘Formation’ in a bid to squash a lawsuit levelled against her for the 2016 hit.

The superstar singer, who is heavily pregnant with twins, was sued by a relative of deceased New Orleans comedian Messy Mya (real name Anthony Barre) back in February. She wasn’t the only name listed on the suit – pretty much everyone connected with the track and its video were served papers.

So what was the issue?

In the ‘Formation’ visual, Mya’s voice is heard twice – first at the start of the clip (“What happened at the New Orleans”) and later on (“B*tch, I’m back by popular demand.”)

The suit, filed by his sister Angel Barre, claims the samples infringe the rights in two works of Barre’s performance art, ‘A 27 Piece Huh?’ and ‘Booking the Hoes from New Wildin.’ Angel seeks royalties, damages and an order that her brother be credited as a writer, composer, producer and artist on the ‘Lemonade’ lead single.

Bey’s team say not so fast.

Her attorney Mary Ellen Roy makes an important point clear from the onset about the production company that produced the video – Pretty Bird:

“[W]hile beyond the scope of this motion, Pretty Bird licensed the YouTube Videos from Mr. Barré’s family before plaintiff Angel Barré had herself appointed as the administrator of the Estate of Anthony Barré weeks after the Music Video’s premiere — presumably for the purpose of bringing this action.”

Roy goes on to stress that Barre’s sister has grossly overstated the use of her brother’s work in the clip and its subsequent use during live performances. She notes that the claim erroneously includes ‘Super Bowl 50,’ during which Beyonce performed the song but didn’t even use the clip of his voice.

As for the use of Mya’s speech in the video and live performances on the ‘Formation World Tour,’ Bey’s motion to dismiss hits back with the fact that just 6-10 seconds were used on each occasion. Hence, it ultimately falls under the protection of Fair Use. And if it didn’t, that wouldn’t matter as the proper licences were secured by the production company ahead of time.

Sounds like Bey a strong case. But time will tell how it all plays out.

The actor/singer Tyrese has apologised to the world after it slammed his latest verbal assault on women.

Often criticised for overlooking problems created by men when sharing his thoughts on relationships, the gifted star took to social media hours ago to ask for forgiveness when his latest remarks threatened to derail his brand and promotion for his new ‘Fast & Furious‘ movie venture.

Because I’m gonna tell you all right now, and this might be harsh. Sluts, skeezers, hoes, tramps and overly aggressive promiscuous women, they are never without a man because they don’t have no standards. They ready to have sex with any and everything that want to have sex with them. But when you are single, and you actually love yourself, you know your value and your self worth you hold out until God sends you whats yours.

So sometimes they be talking mess to women that are single but I have a respect for them because if you’re single and you might say, “I’ve been single for a couple years,” what ever the case may be, you actually holding out because you have your value. You have women that are active out in these streets, they going to lunches and dinners every night. Private planes, mega yachts, it’s cracking. They’re never without. However, it comes with a cost, you gonna put a lot of miles on yourself down there, come on.

How he feels about it all now?

For the record, I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist, or flat out mean. My intentions were there, but my delivery f—ing horrible. And clearly all the way off. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words — s— gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me. Even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself. I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used, and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages,” he added. “I am not perfect or all-knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. My mother taught me better than this….. lesson learned in life you will learn that It’s not always “what” you say, it’s the “how” we choose to say it. For the record I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist or flat out mean….. My intentions were there but my delivery fucking horrible…. And clearly all the way off…. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies… Even after this apology…. Some may likely decide to NOT forgive me…. Time and consistency heals all wounds…. Although I’ve been consistently for years speaking on these topics and some of the same words in my message, I have never experienced what I am experiencing right now. – I’ve been getting dragged and feel the heat from my poor choice of words and approach to my messages, trust me….. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words – Shit gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me, even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself…. it’s crazy how non-public figures can say and do some really dumb shit and it will stay amongst your family and friends or local in your hood…. When you have been an entertainer for 15+ years the whole WORLD is literally watching you grow up & learn, bump your head, make mistakes and evolve as the world watches…. This is a real lesson learned… This is not just a regular IG post for me. I want to truly say that I’m sorry, I’m not APOLOGIZING in an effort to be politically correct, I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages. I am not perfect or all knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. I’ve learned things through experience which I share, and through these last couple of weeks, I’ve learned a lot through this well deserved internet dragging…… This is about a man owning up to his actions, taking responsibility, recognizing how to do better, and actually doing better. Is Janet Jackson gearing up to hit the road again? If new Ticketmaster listings hold true, then the answer could be… “yes.”

The 50-year-old legend made headlines the world over last April when she halted her ‘Unbreakable World Tour’ to “plan a family.”

Jackson was pregnant and this January gave birth to son Eissa Al Mana.

And while fans were told to hold on to their tickets ahead of the rescheduling of dates, folk weren’t expecting to see Jackson back in action soon.

Now, it appears she may be on the comeback trail much faster than initially thought.

A sect of observant ticket holders noted a change in their Ticketmaster accounts as pertains to the show.

Boasting new dates, some listed in September and others through to December, the trek is listed as the ‘Janet Jackson: State Of The World Tour.’

The name is lifted from a track on her mega-selling and critically acclaimed ‘Rhythm Nation’ album.

Could these be real shows or merely placeholder dates? Time will tell. But whatever the case, it would appear Jackson is is readying…something.

The news comes at a pivotal time for the superstar singer.

As widely reported, she recently separated from husband of five years Wissam Al Mana; with confirmation coming  just three months after the birth of Eissa.

As both acts seek new ways to extend their Pop life cycles, fans of Lady GaGa and her sister in song Beyonce continue to battle on social media.

Why?

GaGa’s decision to pick up a number of major opportunities Beyonce decided to put down.

As reported here, their respective support bases have locked horns after they learned that GaGa was to replace Beyonce in the forthcoming ‘A Star is Born’ remake and at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

This, coupled with Tomi Lahren‘s decision to praise GaGa’s SuperBowl performance for steering clear of Beyonce’s politically charged showing a year earlier, has turned Twitter into a very volatile place for both parties.

Jabs, jokes and disses below…

Intense.

What do you think fuels the often vicious rivalries between Pop music lovers and their fans?
