‘America’s Next Top Model‘s legacy will be a confusing one.

While praised for permeating Pop culture and solidifying Tyra Banks‘ legacy on one hand, it- rather unfortunately- is also critiqued for its failure to produce an actual ‘Top Model’ and its treatment of its contestants.

From forcing African-American models to shave their heads bald for ratings-pulling reactions, to allegedly doing little to support the careers of its winners, the show- for more informed viewers- isn’t all Banks and company touted it to be.

The latest contestant to criticise the platform?

Tiffany Richardson, berated by Banks when she refused to cry after learning she had been eliminated in its fourth cycle.

What she has to say about her experience?

Fantasia serves up a cinematic family affair in the video for new single ‘When I Met You.’

Directed by Derek Blanks, the visual features the singer’s husband Kendall Taylor and daughter Zion. Cairo, the son of ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ star Sheree Whitfield also appears.

Boasting a nostalgic-to-now theme, the clip sees the American Idol graduate (and her co-stars) flex their acting muscles. And rather well, at that.

Is there a double standard in Hollywood when it comes to race and sexual assault?

The answer to that question is yes.

That is, if you ask the thousands who have risen on social media to question Hollywood and the media’s reluctance to slam the actor Casey Affleck for his alleged assaults on women after derailing Nate Parker’s ‘Birth of a Nation’ in 2016.

Why so many are outraged at the industry, media and “feminists”?

For a name as renown as Paris Jackson‘s, it’s ironic that very little is known about the actual person.

Thrust into the spotlight as the daughter of the most famous name in recent memory, Michael Jackson, the world’s knowledge of her is limited.

Indeed, during her 18 years, she’s spent her childhood in a mask, was the grieving daddy’s girl at the King of Pop’s funeral, and in 2013 was the teen who attempted suicide.

Now in a markedly better place, Paris is an aspiring model; one who is beginning to embrace a spotlight that she inherited rather than chased.

In a startlingly honest interview with Rolling Stone, she addresses a lengthy list of topics – including, but not limited to, her DNA, growing up at Neverland, her relationship with mother Debbie Rowe, her attempts at ending her life, and her drummer boyfriend. She also muses on her 50 plus tattoos, many of which are dedicated to her dad and one of which is of his late rival Prince.

It’s a long, yet riveting read. Check out the most resonating excerpts below…

T.I. almost came to blows with a fan during a show last night.

For while the rapper was feeling the love and adulation from the crowd, one overexcited male fan copped a feel of something else: T.I’s butt.

Needless to say, the star – who recently hit headlines for seemingly endorsing a homophobic rant – was none too impressed.

Remember Lady Gaga‘s recent visit to the studio?

Well, at the time, many assumed it was for the soundtrack to the singer’s new movie ‘A Star Is Born.’ And with good reason.

After all, her fifth album ‘Joanne’ just hit stores and the 30-year-old promised material for the Bradley Cooper flick.

Now, a new report, has folk thinking otherwise.

Viola Davis‘ British fans were elated when she touched down in the United Kingdom to spread the word about her new movie ‘Fences’.

While there, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts hosted a tribute to the actress to honour her life, the lessons she has learned from it, her craft and her career.

Of course, a conversation with Davis wouldn’t be a real one without a discussion on ‘The Help’.

Her feelings on it are mixed.

Why?
