Mariah Carey may be M.I.A on the charts these days, but that hasn’t stopped the diva’s fan-base from remaining fiercely loyal.

Case, point, the verbal daggers the group (who Carey deems her Lambs) have been throwing at R&B singer Kelly Price for the last 24 hours.

Like most drama in the modern era, the issue started on Twitter following comments Price made about an artist who had a concert special on TV at the time. Call it co-incidence or call it shade, whatever the case, Carey had a special airing at the exact same time.

 It’s been a while, but if industry murmurs are anything to go by- 2013 may see the chart return of ‘Beware Of The Dog‘ singer Jamelia.

So, in what can only feed such rumors, last night saw the star arrive on ‘The X Factor Ukraine’ to perform her cover of Sam Brown‘s ‘Stop’- making for a spectacular watch.

Of course, though we were hoping she’d perform a new cut, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t wowed by what she did do.

Here at That Grape Juice HQ, we love us some Missy Elliott! What’s not to hail about her? Killer flow, stellar songs, outstanding videos, impeccable stage shows and ever-enduring humility.

From The Vault this week journeys back to the year 2002 when Elliott released ‘Gossip Folks’ as the second offering from her fourth album ‘Under Construction’.

‘Gossip’, an open-letter to critics and bandwagon “fans”, was produced by partner-in-crime Timbaland and featured Hip-Hop heavyweight Ludacris. It was yet another hit for the rapper-singer-producer-songwriter, peaking inside the Top 10s of the US and UK charts. The song’s unusual chorus is built around a sample of ‘Double Dutch Bus’ by Frankie Smith.

As is always the case with Elliott, the accompanying visual is quite the event. Boasting CGI aplenty and appearances from the likes of friend Eve and then-protégé Tweet, the video was also notable for its tribute to late artists and friends Jam Master Jay, Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes and of course Aaliyah.

With breakthrough act Azealia Banks confirming that she and Missy are to log in studio time, and with Timbo claiming her highly delayed album ‘Block Party’ is finally poised for released in June, the triple-threat seems on the right path to continue her reign as the one-and-only Queen of Hip-Hop. And we, for one, can’t wait!

It’s that time of year again!

The 2012 Grammy Awards nominations were announced just moments ago. The 54th annual ceremony, which will air live on February 12th via CBS, featured singers Adele and Katy Perry as expected frontrunners for the nominations.  However, with fellow divas Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Rihanna all making splashes on charts in the last year, the stiff competition ironically saw Kanye West lead its pack with a whopping 7 nominations.
