Arguably the most commercially successful X Factor alum to date, it has been confirmed that Leona Lewis’ upcoming single ‘Collide’ will be released in September, two months before the release of a brand spanking new album.

Speaking to Scott Mills of BBC Radio 1 about the song ‘Collide’, the ‘Forgive Me’ singer revealed :
“I’m excited for people to see a different side to my music,I’m a fan of so many different genres and styles. For me this song has all the great ingredients of a summer anthem.”
Her album is set to feature heavy contributions from the likes of Ryan Tedder and Adele collaborator Fraser T Smith, as well as good friend to That Grape Juice, Claude Kelly.
If Leona’s revamped look is anything to go by, fans of the performer should be in for a sonic treat.
With the X Factor USA airing around the same time of the LP’s release, here’s to hoping Ms. Lewis graces the show with a performance in support of an album so many are anticipating.

HOWEVER, her description of ‘Collide’ (from my experience, summer anthem = generic melody with an electro beat) is not exciting at all.I’m ANTICIPATING her album, her videos, her performances and her overall renewed image much more than her lead single
OMG I cannot she is still showing her face after that epic flop-borefest she released. She is done. Her music is boring and she unfortunately does not have the charm that Adele exudes. FLOP in the waiting.
…she is also very soulless in her delivery…her songs just don’t move me @ all. If collide is indeed an uptempo then…SMH…her uptempo songs are always an epic fail, and she cannot dance or have the swag to pull them off. Can she sing…yes, is she a star…hell to the no.

I love love Leona. i loved both her albums, i honestly dont know what went wrong with echo, maybe people wanted uptempo songs but she stayed thru to herself. I was at the labyrinth tour and it was far from boring. i gasped every now and then infact. who would have thought a voice like hers could pull off “they don’t really care about us”. I would thoght u’d need the vocal swagger of Beyonce or studio grittiness of Rihanna but Leona put her stamp on it.
I want her to satisfy the public but then again i dont want her to lose herself. Simon clearly still has an interest in her. artists dont survive past 1 underperformin album on his label (“to the curb”)

Haha, leona is not boring. Adele is very boring and over-hyped and her voice isn’t the best I’ve heard and she seems like a one hit wonder to me. I can’t wait to see what leona has in store.

Nailed it to the T!
Echo is one of my most favorite albums…with “Can’t Breathe” being my favorite from the album. That’s the Leona I have grown to love…very soulful and striking perfection with every note that she hits.
I listened to “Collide” and it is very “Out of My Head” from Echo. I love uptempo Leona, but I wouldn’t be able to do a predominately uptempo album from her.
I guess we will have to wait for November.
