The back and forth/”he said, she said” continues between Dick Clark Productions and Mariah Carey after her abysmal ‘New Year’s Eve 2016’ live performance saw her experience a number a technical difficulties while on stage (see:  ear monitor malfunction, poor lip-syncing, etc.).

As Carey continues to be the brunt of jokes three days after the incident, her team are clapping at DCP for “intentionally setting her up to fail” – a claim the production company and its staff vehemently deny.  Now, after strong defense from her manager, Stella Bulochnikov (see more on that here), the legendary songstress is offering her own commentary on the experience she’s branded “mortifying.”

Her weigh in is followed by word from Jenny McCarthy, the NYE special’s co-host, who maintains that MC did NOT do a sound check despite claiming otherwise….

The fallout from Mariah Carey‘s disastrous New Year’s Eve performance continues.

It’s been a literal game of he she said/he said between the singer’s camp and producers of Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve.

And now, Team Mimi are taking an extra step.

Manager Stella Bulochnikov has given an in-depth interview, chronologically sharing her side of the entire episode – pre, during, and post performance.

…and the claws are out (again)!

As Mariah Carey continues to be a trending topic on Facebook and Twitter after delivering what could easily be classified as the worst performance of her career last night (see it here if you missed it), her nemesis – Jennifer Lopez – is being praised for shutting her NYE performances all the way down over on NBC’s ‘New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.’

A day later, the ‘Feelin’ So Good’ songstress must really be feelin’ herself as she was caught “liking” a photo that slammed Mimi’s shambolic NYE showing.  The move makes some believe the beef between she and Carey, which many thought had cooled, may still be hot as ever…nearly 15 years after it began.

Lee Daniels has criticised for the creators and supporters of the #OscarsSoWhite movement in an interview with The New York Times.

Built to raise awareness for Hollywood’s brass-necked exclusion of actors of colours from its pictures, the movement has been praised for inspiring the minds behind the BAFTAs and Oscars to acknowledge the problem.

Alas, the groundbreaking Daniels believes that the absence of nuanced characters of colour in Hollywood has little to do with the discrimination the business itself acknowledges exists.

His advice to actors?

“Stop complaining.”

Ever keen to take you above and beyond the industry’s velvet rope, That Grape Juice has engaged in conversations with some of the world’s brightest stars since its conception almost a decade ago.

From actors to singers, Reality TV producers to directors, we’re proud to say that we’ve interviewed true game-changers whose work has shifted cultures and inspired generations.

However, few of them can say they’ve made half as much impact as the woman we caught up with last week.

As a founding member of Destiny’s Child, LaTavia Roberson‘s run in the group saw her reach global superstardom alongside bandmates LeToya Luckett, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland by way of music and visuals that elevated them to levels  beyond those reached by the En Vogue‘s and TLC‘s of the world.

Much has changed since we were first introduced to Roberson in 1997.

What success means for her now?

“Africans in the Middle East are the last of the diaspora. They really really REALLY need our help and attention.”

After dashing disses at Nicki Minaj and Lena Dunham earlier on this week, Azealia Banks has decided to turn her gaze to more pressing issues.

One of these is the plight of Africans facing cruelty, racism and discrimination in Asia and the Middle East.

Often ignored by the press, racially-motivated attacks against black people from other minority groups in foreign countries has led to the birth of “Travelling while Black’ videos designed to offer the community help and advice before they touch down.

What Azealia Banks has to say about this and its ties to Syria‘s struggles?
