The legendary Casablanca Records, regarded by many as the most successful independent label of all time, launched the careers of some of music history’s biggest names including Donna Summer, Gladys Knight, Bill Withers, Parliament, and many others.
Founded in 1973 by the late Neil Bogart, the imprint’s story is being told like never before via the forthcoming biographical film ‘Spinning Gold’ (helmed by Bogart’s sons Timothy and Evan).
Collecting notable names from today’s crop of music stars to portray the icons on Casablanca’s roster (Wiz Khalifa as George Clinton, Jason Derulo as Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers, Pink Sweat$ as Bill Withers, Tayla Parx as Donna Summer, Ledisi as Gladys Knight, and more), ‘Spinning’ is set to take viewers on a journey of the rise and fall of one of the industry’s unsung champions.
