Before Pop music lovers learned three of the genre’s biggest names – Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift – had been shortlisted for 2023 Academy Award glory thanks to their respective contributions to 2022 soundtracks, excitement was buzzing for their diva duel at the 2023 Golden Globes.

All listed as nominees in the Best Original Song category, capturing the award would’ve spelled a historic triumph for any of them – especially Rih who would have been the first Black female to nab the honor in 40 years.

Despite being considered shoo-ins for the award, Tuesday night’s ceremony (January 10) saw the ladies’ fan bases erupt after none of their names were called to accept it.

Because Angela Bassett is one of the most revered actresses in movie and television history, her mantel has certainly made room for some of the entertainment industry’s most prized awards over the last three-and-a-half decades.

However, despite critical acclaim for portraying the likes of “Bernadine Harris,” Katherine Jackson, Rosa Parks, and many others over the years, major industry honors (i.e. EMMY, Academy Award, etc.) have often eluded her – much to the chagrin of her dedicated legion of fans.

The first step in righting that wrong may have come Tuesday night (January 10), however, when the 64-year-old captured the second Golden Globe of her career.

SZA has unlocked the video for her killer new single ‘Kill Bill.’

Housed on the GRAMMY winner’s sophomore album ‘S.O.S,’ the track became an instant fan-favorite upon the December release of the LP – which has reigned at #1 on the Billboard 200 for 4 weeks.

Having climbed to a peak of #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Bill’ looks poised to soar to higher heights with the arrival of its cinematic visual.

Directed by Christian Breslauer, the video draws inspiration from the blockbuster film and, in an awesome nod to the classic, features a cameo from none other than Vivica A. Fox.

Jeremy Pope takes center stage in A24’s powerful drama ‘The Inspection.’

Inspired by the real-life experiences of Elegance Bratton, the film follows the character Ellis (played by Pope) as he navigates homophobia while away at Marine boot camp – and back home with his mother (Gabrielle Union).

Pope’s piercing, potent performance earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor and is generating plenty of Oscar buzz too.

Kenya Moore broke down in floods of tears during her appearance on the Tamron Hall show this week while discussing her split from her husband Marc Daly. 

The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star’s divorce proceedings have dragged on for years – leaving many perplexed as to the hold-up.

However, she’s now addressed the confusion by revealing that the lack of prenup is the cause of the arguable chaos.

Moore, who gave birth to the couple’s daughter Brooklyn in 2018, appeared on the daytime talker to discuss her new reality show ‘Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.’

Yet, true to form, she remained candid when questioned about the drama with Daly, who is a New York-based restauranteur.

Indeed, she waxed honest about their struggles to co-parent as well as what she’s eyeing in a new partner.
