For many New Yorkers, the Christmas season isn’t truly in full swing until the arrival of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree at the New York City plaza.

The festive evergreen, a holiday symbol in the Big Apple for eight decades, was decorated with a three-dimensional Swarovski star topper and more than 50,000 multicolored LED lights – all of which shone brightly for this year’s tree lighting ceremony.

Hosted by ‘Today’ anchors Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Craig Melvin as well as actor-TV host Mario Lopez, the showing also featured sizzling performances from the likes of Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, Jimmie Allen, Andrea Bocelli alongside Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli, David Foster and Katharine McPhee, Brett Eldredge, Mickey Guyton, Dan + Shay, Blake Shelton, The Shindellas, Louis York, and more.
