With the highly anticipated, October 14 release date of ‘Till’ nearing, expect to see and hear much in the coming days about the film that chronicles the story of activist and humanitarian Mamie Till-Mobley and her son, Emmett Till, whose brutal murder is credited for putting a national spotlight on the civil rights movement.

Directed by Chinonye Chukwu, ‘Till’ stars Danielle Deadwyler in the lead role and features notable names like Whoopi Goldberg, Jalyn Hall, Frankie Faison, Jayme Lawson, Tosin Cole, and many more.

Already buzzing on the lips of industry analysts for its potential for Oscar gold in the 2023, the movie may also be set to land an Academy Award nod for the music that lines its soundtrack.

‘Must Be Nice’ hitmaker Lyfe Jennings must be in the mood for drama.

The R&B singer-songwriter, already on the lips of many for claiming he sang for infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer when the two were in jail at the same time, continues to hit back at detractors who suggest he’s using the murderer’s name for clout.

Earning side-eyes from critics for reflecting glowingly on the interaction (even referring to Dahmer as “the little homie”), Jennings spent most of the week on Instagram sharing a 3-part story about his experience with the man who killed and reportedly cannibalized mostly young men of color in the 80’s and 90’s.

And while interest in Dahmer’s gruesome story has been renewed thanks to the wildly popular Netflix series ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,’ it’s also come under fire for being insensitive to the victims’ families.

Let Lyfe tell it, however, that criticism is misplaced as Jeffrey’s killings weren’t the only things doing damage to Black families at the time.  Read his statement inside.

The life and times of Jeffrey Dahmer, one of America’s most-documented serial killers, has captured the attention of millions once again thanks to Ryan Murphy‘s wildly popular Netflix series, ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.’

Beyond garnering a record number of viewers since its September 21 release, it’s also spurred a firestorm of controversy and conversation on social media with commenters ranging from everyday people to politicians, sports stars, entertainment celebrities, and more.

Among the latter is R&B singer Lyfe Jennings, who took to Instagram Monday (October 3) to recount his alleged experience with Dahmer when the two were in prison at the same time in 1992 – even claiming to have sung a requested tune for the infamous murderer he referred to as “the little homie.”

Met with mostly negative responses, from some claiming the unsolicited tale was pure fiction to some suggesting it was insensitive or clout-chasing, Jennings (born Chester Jermaine Jennings) returned to IG shortly after to hit back at detractors.
