From ‘End of an Era’ to the end of her retirement, Iggy Azalea is ready to press “play” on a new album after a yearlong hiatus from the music scene.

As reported here, Azalea dropped jaws when she took to press to announce her last studio album, 2021’s ‘End of an Era,’ would be her last (citing the desire to focus on motherhood and other business ventures as the reason for the unexpected exit).

In the time since, the GRAMMY nominee embarked on a North American tour with fellow rapper Pitbull.

Apparently the warm reception on the jaunt was just the catalyst needed to reignite Iggy Iggz’ passion for music as she took to Twitter recently to confirm she’s cooking up new tunes for the new year.

Beyonce‘s latest album ‘Renaissance’ may have seen its historic ascent to #1 on the Billboard 200 accompanied by massive critical acclaim, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t still field its fair share of controversy and criticism for its content.

Beyond claims from fellow singer Kelis that her music was included on the set without permission (as we reported here), Bey was also on the receiving end of jeers from a number of listeners who disapproved of the interpolation of the Clark Sisters‘ 1981 gospel tune ‘Center of Thy Will’ as the base for the housed cut ‘Church Girl.’

Produced by The Dream and No I.D., ‘Girl’ features the looped vocals of legendary group member Dorinda Clark-Cole singing about being in the center of God’s will when Bey chimes in with less-than-holy lyrics about ‘dropping it like a thotty’ in the center of a dance floor.

Just weeks after lead Clark Sister Twinkie Clark, who wrote ‘Will,’ gave the sample a thumbs up, Clark-Cole took to the pulpit to echo her big sister’s sentiment. Look inside to see what she said.

As Rae Sremmurd fans impatiently await the landing of the Rap group’s fourth studio album ‘Sremm4Life,’ the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Sr3mm,’ the brothers drop yet another single from the forthcoming – ‘Community D*ck.’

Enlisting rising rapstress Flo Milli to assist, the track’s arrival was accompanied by a comedic, Bryan Barber-directed video that sees its main stars provide some community service by way of anatomical delivery.

“Bust it open for me, ma’am / Do that trick on a d*ck, yeah, you know what to do / Go ‘head, get that tip, girl (Tip, girl) / D*ckin’ these hoes back to back / I’ma text you off my iPad (Yeah),”  Swae raps on the new bop.

While we’re pretty sure any week is a good week to be Beyonce, this week is proving itself a particularly good time to be the Queen.

As if earning a historic seventh run atop the Billboard 200 with her latest album ‘Renaissance’ wasn’t enough reason to ‘drop it like a thotty,’ the 40-year-old diva later learned the set’s lead single – ‘Break My Soul’ – broke records when it landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (not long after doing the same in the U.K.).

To add to all of that, the good folks at Parkwood/Columbia have finally answered the prayer of many-an-impatient #Beyhive member and updated the sales of her iconic catalog.

With that, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced a slew of certification upgrades – so many the songstress has now blasted past Katy Perry to be listed as the third best-selling female artist of the digital era.

A judge is saying “playa pleathe” to music superstar Taylor Swift over claims her 2014 smash single ‘Shake It Off’ didn’t borrow elements of 3LW‘s moderate 2001 hit, ‘Playas Gon’ Play.’

Swift may have thought she shook the judgment after the original copyright infringement claim was dismissed in 2018, but an appeals court said the decision was ‘too close to call’ in December 2021 and is deferring to a jury.

In light of a new motion submitted by the GRAMMY winner’s legal team Monday (August 8), look inside to read her lengthy statement on the matter.
