Girls Aloud are back.

And with Cheryl Cole‘s solo sales sagging sans The X Factor machine and the rest tanking in spectacular fashion with their own efforts, it was really only a matter of time.

Less cynically, though, next month marks the tenth anniversary of the group’s creation, and it appears the ladies are gearing up to mark the occasion.

For, this morning saw the a mysterious countdown timer appear on their newly relaunched website; a timer which ends on October 19th – the widely speculated release of the group’s new single.

The time-frame also coincides with the ladies much speculated live showing at Children In Need on November 16th, as well as the Royal Variety Performance which place on November 19th.

And while little else has been revealed about the project at present, it has been confirmed that Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola, and co  clocked in studio time with Pop maestro’s Xenomania back in May.

With the original Sugababes MKS also back in the mix, it’s certainly an exciting time for fans of Brit-Pop girl groups.

They may be relatively talent-challenged (sans, of course, the sublime Nadine Coyle – R.I.P ‘Insatiable’), but check out some of our favourite Girls Aloud moments below. Warning *some* are so bad, they’re good!

The Mariah Carey PR machine shows no signs of stopping in the wake of her American Idol clash with Nicki Minaj this week.

Armed with her husband Nick Cannon and their adorable twins Monroe and Moroccan, the premium diva took the air in a ride on the Santa Monica pier in California yesterday. The 42 year old and her troop then posed for pics that would melt even the hardest of hearts.

We’ve said it before and will continue to echo the same; never underestimate the know-how of an industry veteran like Mariah. She hasn’t sustained this long on the merit of her (incredible) voice alone. Calculated photo opps like this ensure she’s painted as the victim, while Nicki continues the ratchetness on Twitter. Viewed this way, who’s really “winning”?

And the claws are out!  As reported by SheIsDiva, former CNN anchorman Anderson Cooper, who now hosts his own daytime talk show, took time to address former ‘The View’ frontwoman Star Jones for comments she’d made about him during his highly publicized revelation about his sexuality.

Deeming the announcement a “ploy for ratings”, Cooper addressed Jones on his show this week – implying the TV diva was irrelevant and pointing out her infamous gastric bypass secrets and more.  See his rant above below:

Following Cooper‘s slam, Star quickly took to Twitter to offer the response:

We definitely will have our eyes on this in the coming days to see how it plays out.  Between Nicki Minaj/Mariah Carey and now Star/Anderson, it seems TV‘s real life divas are giving us all the drama we need and more!

While Mariah Carey continues to exhibit signs of passive aggression over at ‘American Idol’, her long time rival Christina Aguilera shows her how a comeback is really made with the release of this shot.

A shot, which will serve as the cover for her forthcoming LP ‘Lotus‘. Just as triumphant as the icon’s launch single ‘Your Body’, the artwork arrived courtesy of Christina herself this evening.

She tweeted:

With a career spanning almost twenty years, Lil Kim is undoubtedly one of Rap’s more popular living legends.

Yes, while recent years have seen her ‘mainstream’ appeal fall prey to irrelevancy, there is no denying the ‘No Time’ Rapper’s mark on Hip Hop culture and the short but sweet time she enjoyed as Pop’s reigning MC circa 2001.

So now, weeks after confirming the release of new material, That Grape Juice presents…

If you thought the drama between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey would soon simmer, think again. For, Young Money Minaj is still at it on Twitter, and has now taken aim with fellow femcee Da Brat – who, as Carey’s friend, is said to have “dissed” her. Only problem, Da Brat claims her supposed comments are fake and that she hasn’t said anything.

With Nicki Minaj presently “spilling the tea” about her American Idol altercation with Mariah Carey (her words, not ours), the latter has broken her silence too.

And the fallout continues.

After maintaining a day’s silence following the video which confirmed their feud, American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have begun to publicly address the drama.

Taking to Twitter moments ago, Minaj appeared to have a meltdown of sorts when speaking on the icon, going as far as to insuinate that she is being racially targeted. The Young Money’s star’s broken silence comes after Carey phoned in The View today to tell Barbara Walters her side of the “story”.

“Give me an inch I’ll take a yard/ Oh lighten up y’all know I was comin’ back real hard.”

Check out the above pic of Rap icon Lil Kim enjoying the company of record producer Verse Simmonds recently, shared with fans via the social networking site Twitter.

Verse, for those who don’t know, is most renown for the contributions his ‘Juggernauts’ played in producing Rihanna‘s provocative number ‘Man Down’, which featured on her 2010 LP ‘Loud’ and remixed by Kim for her polarizing ‘Black Friday‘ mix tape.

Prompting speculation that the pair are to collaborate, the shot was reportedly snapped in a recording studio weeks after the MC promised the release of new material to fans during New York Fashion Week.

Still haven’t heard Kim’s ‘Man Down’ mix?
