Believe it or not, it has been six years since the release of Justin Timberlake‘s last album ‘Future Love Sex Sounds‘.
Enjoying a musical hiatus which saw him pursue some of his more dramatic passions instead, the consummate performer has rather unfortunately had to watch his one time rival Beyonce go onto enjoy ‘budding icon’ status , and his Pop Prince crown strategically snatched by a certain Justin Bieber.
Now, the ‘Black Snake Moan’ star is readying his return to his music with a ‘crazy’ new album.
The ‘Blow Me’ singer, whose new album ‘The Truth About Love’ hits stores on September 18th, saw the LP’s campaign given a major boost today when it was announced that she is the new face of CoverGirl cosmetics.
Ellen Degeneres and Queen Latifah are some of the major names who’ve fronted the campaign previously, a fact which couldn’t make the 32 year old (real name Alecia Moore) any happier:
“Joining a group of women who have always inspired me — to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look — is such an honor. I have a lot to celebrate. I called my new album The Truth About Love, and the truth is that I have my beautiful family and baby girl, my new music and now my partnership with CoverGirl to love.”
After burning bridges with almost every artist she has ever engaged with, today saw Azealia Banks showcase some humility and apologize to ‘Gucci Gucci’ belle Kreayshawn.
This, some months after the latter was attacked by Ms. ‘212’ for tweeting a link to the song’s video posted on an adult website, prompting Banks to label the Rapper a ‘stupid b*tch’.
Now peep her apology and Kreayshawn’s response below…
This week’s From The Vault pick comes courtesy of defunct R&B duo, Zhané and their timeless smash ‘Hey Mr. DJ’.
R&B at its finest, ‘DJ’ was the first single from their 1993 debut, the aptly titled ‘Pronounced Jah-Nay’ (in case you were wondering). It was a Billboard Hot 100 smash, charting at #6 and managed to crack the Top 40 of various other countries like the U.K and Australia where it peaked at #26 and #9 respectively.
The funky cut was accompanied by a fitting “bloc-party” video, which – like much of the 90’s Urban output – evoked a real “feel good” aura. An aura referenced by some today’s artists, ala Beyonce on ‘Party’, yet one generally overlooked in an era which sees most trying to embrace the “dark” and “edgy”.

Zhané scored themselves a few hits after ‘DJ’, such as ‘Groove Thang’ and ‘Sending My Love’, but ultimately called it quits as golden-decade of the 90’s drew to a close.
Though the journey ended rather abruptly for the talented pair, solace can be sourced in that they cooked up a hit which remains ever-fresh.
The premium diva continues to show her contemporaries how to launch a single. For, after premièring her latest gem ‘Triumphant’ amidst a blaze of hype last night, the cut’s official Dance (Vintage Throwback) Mix received its premiere moments ago.
Boasting all-new vocals, the solely Mariah affair is a must-hear. Check it out after the jump….
Before she unleashes the cut tonight, fans of Mariah Carey will be pleased to know that the lyrics of ‘Triumphant (Get Em)’ have surfaced online- well.
Without further delay, get into the alleged preview- by way of ShowBiz 411 below…

Now find out what happened when Minaj and her supporters caught wind of Banks’ ‘tall tale’ below…
He may have won its second season, but Shayne Ward‘s career since the X Factor has been anything but a walk in the park.
Indeed, after exhausting its machine to spawn one #1 single and an LP to just chart just as high, recent years have seen the ‘Breathless’ singer’s career take a rude turn for the worst- with his 2011 single ‘Obsession‘ peaking at #97 on the UK Singles Chart.
Now, in response to a new commercial advertising ‘Factor’s ninth season, he has hit out creator Simon Cowell for ‘erasing’ what he calls its ‘history’.
