As reported here, sexy is undoubtedly the vibe ‘Fallin’ diva Alicia Keys was giving in the latest VIBE magazine issue.  Set to front the urban publication’s 2nd annual ‘Global Issue’, it’s safe to say Mrs. Beatz was turning up the heat in more ways than one for the mag – which boasts her first ‘real’ interview in quite some time.

While fans anxiously await their first taste of what she’s been cooking up in the studio, they can find her on VIBE’s April/May issue, set to hit newsstands on April 16th.  Get into the visuals below (courtesy of ILoveMusicPop):

Following her passing in 2001, the question of what Aaliyah could have been was she alive today is a question many still find themselves asking today.

To some, she was on her way to becoming the biggest crossover act of the noughties, rising above her R&B princess status to enjoy the global acclaim the likes of Beyonce & Rihanna enjoy today.

Now, long time friend Timbaland has weighed in on the matter.

Never before has the world seen a  Female Rapper fare so well on a Pop front in the way Queens belle  Nicki Minaj has in the last two years.

Outselling Rihanna‘s ‘Loud‘ and Beyonce‘s ‘4‘ in the US with her debut set ‘Pink Friday‘, Minaj’s success albeit commendable, has placed her under intense criticism.

Criticism, which has seen her labelled a sell-out for embracing Pop music.

Now  she has weighed in on these claims.

Alicia Keys is back!

The 14-time Grammy winner is reportedly hard at work at (what could very well be) her next award-winning, yet titled LP.  While Miss Beatz has long teased fans with news of her nearly completed follow-up to 2009’s ‘Element of Freedom’, everything else has been kept under tight lock.

Where we have seen Keys, however, is fronting many-a-social issue campaign.  From Africa to New York’s inner city youth, the songbird has spread her philanthropic wing to touch many causes and outlines them all in VIBE magazine’s forthcoming, 2nd annual ‘Global Issue’.

Set to hit newsstands on April 16th, fans looking for a taste of what the diva will be dishing on can click here for excerpts.

Your thoughts?

You’ve read our review, so you’ll know that – unlike some sects – we actually enjoyed Nicki Minaj‘s sophomore offering ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’.

However, a sentiment we expressed has become one echoed in other critiques of the good, bad, and in-between persuasions:

The album is disjointed.

For all Ms. Minaj’s gusto and defiance, it’s abundantly clear that there was a real struggle to please both her Pop and Hip-Hop audiences. And while it’s a relatively “good” problem to have, it’s a problem which we feel could have been easily avoided with a more tactile approach.

Indeed, instead of a tracklist which divides the album like Moses did the Red Sea, surely it would have benefitted all to go the extra mile and conjure up a “themed” double-disc of sorts?

With the industry not making it rain like it used to, one could argue the “physical double-disc” may be a stretch. However, when an act drops a 19-track album, backed by an International media-blitz, it’s clear “coin” isn’t an issue.

Hence,  something akin to Beyonce‘s ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ project is ultimately what her Sophomore Dr should have ordered. A simple setup which would create ample space for Nicki to appease her “mixtape” and “Mindy” fans. Heck, even if not a double disc, then even an interlude would suffice in adequately teasing apart “Nicki” and “Roman”.

Still, with the LP on course to hit #1, what’s done is done. That said, we can only hope such suggestion serves as food for thought heading into her third studio outing.

R&B singer Brandy decided to leave her girl-next-door image at home in favor of a bolder, avant-garde themed look for her featured spread in ‘YRB Magazine’. It should go without saying, she looks undeniably hot. Everything from the eccentric pieces, to the new cropped hairdo works!

The vocal technician also spilled details surrounding her upcoming LP, ‘Two Eleven’, aptly named after her birthday and the date of Whitney Houston’s passing.

See more shots from the shoot and peep what Brandy had to say about ‘Two Eleven’ after the jump.
