Edgy, cinematic, and dripping all sorts of “swaggu”, the clip does a stellar job of “selling” Rita on a world stage. For, while the song boasts an air of gritty “British” (as intended), it was indeed penned by Drake. Hence has a certain flavour of “universal” which could easily lend itself to other markets; a potential the track’s solid video can only help.

The video was okay, but because there are already so many Rihanna comparrisons she needs to come that bit harder with her visuals. She SHOULD NOT change her style because that is HER, but be creative with your videos and song choices.
She has one up on Rihanna already because she has a soulful voice, but she needs to work more showcasing this over her pretty face, because the public are becoming tired of seeing hot girls with no vocal talent or music creativity.

Rita reminds me a lot of Rihanna. I’m not sure what to think about that. The song has a hook that stays with you, but I don’t really care for it (as a whole). Then again, some Rihanna songs I hate turn out to be hits. R.I.P is better than a few of them. Still, I hope Rita brings more to the table and start experimenting to bring out the best music that she’s capable of giving us. Eventually she’ll need to come into her own. Perhaps she will, time will tell.

Bottom line is that Rita is Jay-Z/Roc Nation’s newest love and pet project, while Rihanna just lingers in the background with stalling singles, cheap stunts (dueting with the ex-lover who beat her up) that don’t pay off, and tacky Twitter photos of her ridiculous hairstyle changes and whatnot.
Priorities are shifting at a corporate level, and we can all see it.

Rihanna is out promoting a blockbuster movie in which she stars, producing her own Television series, her own fashion line as well as a string of other projects, she is out building her resume, brand, & bank account. @CzarM, I’m not a psycho fan of Rihanna, but I’m definitely a fan of the music, and I hear what you’re saying… it’s obvious Rita is Roc Nation’s new focus baby. But I watch this video and think to myself, “Really?” I just cannot get into this song or P&B or her UK #1 with DJ Fresh. None of them sound good to me. It’s her voice and vocal style (or lack thereof) that brings the songs down. I have a feeling if Rihanna did this song, I’d like it. I hate the way she sings “R-I-P”. It just depresses me that they are blowing this girl up. Cute girl for sure, but this is no Rihanna or Beyonce… sorry Rita fans. I’ll eat my words if she can ever manage to earn a #1 in the states that even I enjoy, but good luck with that. Party… And Bullshit… yeeeah right. So much for a debut runaway hit like Pon De Replay. I cannot get over the way she is singing this song. She can sing but to me her voice does not fit this type of song. As far as the video in concerned its ok, I was interested at some points but then scrolled down to read the comments while it was playing. Its just not on point this is just not her style of music. Does she write? She seems like the kind who is a songwriter/ singer and could make good music. I’m not buying this.

I am a musician so I can tell Rita have more talent in one pinky compared to rihanna ,rihanna´s carrer have been based mostly on her gorgeous looks, add to that the hottest songwriters and producers and thats why her succes,if somebody have seen ri performing live then you can tell she doesnt have a voice ,and you have to hear talk that talk to know that without good choices and strong material shes just another generic pop singer from the bunch
the problem with rita its that its being managed by jayz who happens to be beyonce´s husband and rhis mentor , its very clear hes trying to put the next big thing with the same formula and its more clear rita doesn´t fit that bag ,shes more than the out from the hood mentality sister , her voice its more than the pop generic crap thats in today´s radio(and were already tired from it) ,and for those reasons even when shes so much more talented than the girls I mentioned she lacks credibility (I don´t see her running from Jay z side anytime soon) so she need´s to bring out her own style and embrace her own persona ,if she comes to that point then I can see her doing big things

Rihanna may not be the best singer in the world but she definitely has a unique voice studio voice, not sure if it’s the accent but her tone is far more interesting and captivating than RitA’s. RIP should have been sung by Rihanna, RitA’s efforts are boring and does not have personality . Even Party and Bullshit has Rita confused. Is she Katy Perry? Is she Kesha? The girl has no individuality . She has a lot of soul but that will only be reflected if she writes and sings her own songs that are from the heart .
She doesn’t need to try so hard with the image, just distracts the purity of her talent. Rita you’re reading this go indie, seriously. Life’s not about money. Find yourself.
