At the top of the year, the blogger/DJ-turned-Web personality sent the rapper’s fans – affectionately called #Hotties – into a frenzy when he said the GRAMMY winner wasn’t ‘100th of the talent’ of her ‘Hot Girl Summer’ co-star Nicki Minaj (as we reported here).

As if the unceremonious slamming he was for that afforded wasn’t enough, he returned for more this week – inciting furor after Stallion’s 2021 BET Award sweep.

The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch lead with 8 noms each, while Megan Thee Stallion (who is a first time nominee) reigns as the most honored female with 5 noms.

It’s fitting, then, that the trio are amongst the names leading the nominations for the 2020 BET Hip-Hop Awards 

DaBaby leads the pack with a whopping 12 nominations, while Roddy Ricch follows with 11. 

Hot on their heels, Houston’s Megan and Canadian titan Drake have each landed 8 a piece.

This year’s show takes place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA and airs October 5.

Given their history of cranking out top 40 hits (see: Jason Derulo‘s ‘Swalla’ and Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Hot Girl Summer’), Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj have already proven they have the Midas touch.

Now, with new song ‘Expensive,’ they’re looking to prove it again.

“She’s so expensive, okay / Beemers or the Benzes, okay,” Ty sings on the track. “Lambo or the double R truck, yeah yeah / She gon’ let a superstar f**k.”

The song is assumed to be one of many gems set to line $ign’s forthcoming studio album, ‘Dream House’ (the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Beach House 3’).
