The road to ‘Utopia‘ hasn’t been easy for Travis Scott, but the overwhelmingly positive response to the July 28-released album suggests it was worth the wait.

As Dua Lipa fans impatiently wait for updates on her highly anticipated third studio album, the follow-up to 2020’s blockbuster ‘Future Nostalgia,’ the Pop diva has been sparsely whetting appetites by appearing as a feature on a number of high-profile releases since the era’s close (i.e. Megan Thee Stallion, Elton John, Pop Smoke, Miley Cyrus, etc.).
The first taste of solo Lipa music since 2021’s ‘Love Again‘ came courtesy of the May 25-released ‘Dance the Night,’ which also serves as the lead single from the forthcoming ‘Barbie‘ film (of which the GRAMMY winner also stars).
Sending her diehard supporters into a frenzy upon its arrival, the tune made a commendable debut right outside of the Hot 100’s top 40 as it entered as last week’s second-highest premiere among new songs by women (following Taylor Swift‘s ‘Hits Different’).
This week, thanks to rising on every format (streaming, digital downloads, and radio airplay), the Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson-produced bop has cracked the top 40.
Madonna barely gave music lovers time to get acquainted with her June 2-released single ‘Popular‘ (alongside The Weeknd and Playboi Carti) before the Pop Queen gave her royal blessing to the launch of a new single with another of the day’s top hitmakers: Sam Smith.
As has been teased for weeks, the ‘Like a Prayer’ singer has answered the prayer of many-a-fan when she revealed a mystery collab with Sam – a joint effort that later turned out to the ILYA-produced duet ‘Vulgar.’
“Look like I’m dressed to kill, love how I make me feel / All black in stripper heels, move like Madonna / Rich like I’m in the Louvre, got nothin’ left to prove / You know you’re beautiful when they call you vulgar,” the two sing on the thunderous track.
Reportedly recorded the day after the 2023 GRAMMYs, hear ‘Vulgar’ inside just in time for Pride month.

Whatever the occasion may be, these artists crafted the year’s best songs.
