Check out Lizzo!

The chart-topping performer lights up the December issue of Essence Magazine.

Arriving on the heels of her recently released single ‘Rumors’ featuring Cardi B, the issue celebrates ‘The Year of Radical Self-Care.’ A reference, of course, to the unprecedented times the world has experienced and the ways the masses – including notable names – have managed to navigate forward.

Body positivity has been one of those ways and with Lizzo being synonymous with the term, she was naturally quizzed about it. Interestingly, she says she finds the topic (or more so, the need for it) “exhausting.”

In addition to serving as the executive producer for the soundtrack to the forthcoming Halle Berry film ‘Bruised’ (click here to view the trailer), Cardi B also contributes to the all-star tracklist which features the likes of City Girls, H.E.R., Saweetie, Latto, and more.

Her ‘Bruised’ feature ‘Bet It,’ which comes as a Latin-inspired cut that features interpolations of Camilo Sesto‘s 1972 hit, Algo de Mí,’ kicks off the 13-song soundtrack and houses lyrics that speak to her fighting spirit (a fitting addition to the LP’s tracklist given the film’s subject matter).

“I don’t see one, only Cardi B want it / Then I want some shit, ’cause I done some shit / Checks on like I just won some shit / Shoot up the charge like I gun some shit / Gotta read my deal, ’cause I run this shit,” Cardi raps on the Cool N Dre-produced number.

Via their aptly-titled duet, ‘Money,’ rising rapstresses Rico Nasty and Flo Milli have joined forces to remind you they’ve got their mind on their money and their money on their mind.

“I ain’t coming in ‘less you get my friends in / We need fifteen bottles in our section / Can’t provide it? N*gga, get to stepping / This p*sy a secret weapon / I like shoes and expensive presents,” Nasty spits on the Boys Noize-produced cut.

Snoop Dogg‘s latest album has arrived.

Aptly-titled ‘The Algorithm,’ the project features many of his famous friends. Such faces that are featured, include: Mary J. Blige, Usher, Ice Cube, E-40, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, and many many more all appear.

Speaking about the project, Snoop said:

“There’s so much talent on this record, so many styles of music, it breaks the algorithm. Right now, the algorithm is telling us you have to rap this way, you have to sound this way, but they’re not telling you how it’s supposed to feel. My algorithm is going to give you a feeling, not a sound.”
