For two decades, Ashanti has amazed the masses with music that has become etched in the lives of millions worldwide.
An unmistakable presence in the Pop cultural landscape, the singer has broken records and bulldozed the barriers that once limited Black women in the entertainment space.
It’s fitting, then, that Ashanti has been named the recipient of the coveted Lady of Soul honor at the Soul Train Awards 2021.
Filmed at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York, the hotly anticipated show airs this Sunday (November 28) and will see the superstar take to the stage to perform.
Prior to the big night, That Grape Juice‘s Chet Kincaid sat down with Ashanti to discuss the honor and her exciting plans to re-record her debut album.

The Soul Train Awards airs this Sunday on BET at 8pm ET/PT on BET, BET Her, VH1, and MTV2.
