After weeks of speculation, Rihanna has admitted to being in a relationship with Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett. The 19 year old singer, who is 10 years younger than Hartnett, had the following to say:“I’ve fallen for him (Hartnett) big time. I would be lying if I (said) we were not more than just friends.
“He is so hot and he is really sweet to me. When we hang out it feels right – even though it’s still pretty new.”

Is it just me or does this scream ‘publicity stunt’? It just doesn’t sound genuine. A last ditch attempt to spark interest in her under-performing album, maybe?

I don’t like her and I don’t hate her but i keep noticing you have nothign but dumb stuff to say. She is pretty succesful, so i wouldn’t say her album is under performing it’s doing really well WORLDWIDE. You retards only look at the US i bet. So get your facts Sam.
And I don’t want to be bitter, but I come back to this blog each day hoping a new banner comes along or something nice and refreshing, but all I always see are fast-assed tibits that I always read first somewhere else.

6:35, it’s BIASED, love, not biasT…and how can you criticize Sam or anyone just cuz we don’t think she’s the best thing since sliced bread?
Her album is underperforming. She was expected to do muuuuuuch better with such a “groundbreaking” lead single and she didn’t even hit #1 in any country (I don’t think). And, she barely sells tickets to shows. Why do you think she co-toured with first Akon and now Ciara? Her people spent close to 1 million bucks on her ‘Shut Up and Drive’ video (and I don’t think she has made the effort worth it monetarily yet since no one was really checking for that video), and even with the monster smash hit ‘Umbrella’ she hasn’t even gone platinum here. Hell, she’s not even in the top 50 on the charts anymore. The UK loves her, but from what I have heard (I admit I may be wrong) she’s not even doing so hot on the charts there. That’s why she is re-releasing the album with the Chris Brown ‘Umbrella’ remix and a rumored duet with Beyonce: no one here is feeling her music that much…it’s too fluffy or something. She is most likely platinum worldwide, but damn, how many people count in worldwide sales? Way more than US and she is STILL flailing? Come on, admit it. ‘Hate That I Love U’ is getting a little attention thank God, but damn, not one of her non-collabo songs are garnering any attention to her album.
So, of course she announces the relationship. White guys are hot right now, and just like everything else she does, she jumped on the popularity bandwagon and is milking it for all it’s worth.
I am not saying the relationship isn’t real, but it just seems a little convenient, with his movie recently coming out, just like Shia Labeouf.
And of course we look at US sales, duh, we live here! Everyone knows that all sales matter in the sense of business, but as far as US publicity goes, you need a platinum album here in the states or something scandalous to push you forward. What better than a white man 10 years her senior? If she didn’t want the publicity, she could’ve kept her mouth shut and let people say whatever.
Ok, I know I have ranted, but I have been hearing that same argument about this little girl all damn day from the most ignorant people.
Sam, I like your blog. A LOT. Even if I don’t always agree with you, I admire that you don’t just post what you care about, but you try to cater to your readers. I guess what 6:35 doesn’t understand is that because this is YOUR blog, you get to have your opinion!

Oh, and PS I know I very much sound like a hater, so no need to comment. I can’t help that I expect so much more than the bare minimum from artists, which is what this girl has given from Day 1. I do admire her gusto in staying relevant, and setting trends, so to speak. But that is not what this is about. She reminds me of Posh Spice more than most people may notice or care to admit. She is a manufactured image. And, I was a big Fefe Dobson fan, btw.
