Mariah Carey appeared on another episode of TBS’ Lopez Tonight a few hours ago, giving a live rendition of ‘It’s A Wrap’ from her ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ LP.
Though I actually found the performance quite good (especially the vocals), Mariah’s stage movements (or lack of, should I say) made for somewhat uncomfortable viewing. Surely, if you can’t move in what you’re wearing, wear something else? Just saying…

stop bitchin and just say the performance was good , I didnt expect her to ever sing this song live , cause on the record she is really belting, her voice is really coming back bit by bit. And yeah of course the parts at the end are lipsynced but who cares

This one of my favorite song off the album , that was greattt . The song its self is just epic, she did it justice. She never can do the same for obsessed, its just not her kind of record.

This is my favorite song from the cd! I’m a sucker for a throwback sound. However, watchin Mariah is painful. It’s like she has no idea what to do on a stage. WTF does she half way walk over to the back up singers for? Makes no sense. And the background singers helpin her out with the higher/belting parts is ridiculous for someone who is praised for their voice. Sorry, but it’s true.

Well, I have been a Mariah fan since her very first album and have followed her since. Honestly I just believe she is older and just not as vibrant as she use to be. I admit the hand movements make me nervous as well as her vocals (live) aren’t the best anymore. I mean nowadays people want to see a show when they come out to see their favorite perfomer live. I love her still but facing reality that its “a wrap” for her in a few more years. People just aren’t receiving her like they use to…Love ya MiMi

Mariah has NEVER been much of a mover so its just not an issue now cus she will never be a mover after all these years.
I will say she’s a lot more stiffer but i feel its because apart of her afraid to let go the free her vocals in case it cracks
Mariah old skool never moved well but u see her body was relaxed, and the FULL passion of singing jus flowed through her.
Does she smoke cig’s??? I only ask cus mayb that apart of the reason we hear the croak in some parts of her vocals.
She defo rebuilding some confidence though cus she sounds so much better live now rhan a few months ago..
Mariah doesn’t rely on her backing singers it’s just this song has alot of accent sections which BV’s are required 4. She loves it when they on point so when she looks at them and started walkin over she was feeling the vibes…
Mariah will always be BIG to me cus the staying power she has had is EXCELLENT, so i appreciate that. Sales are not what is making an artist this year because for the except few the industry hasn’t done great overall in 09..

This was lipsynced through out. I wish her stans would stop being delusional. The night before, her voice was ragged for obsessed and she lipped the high belts and the whistle.
The next night she sounds amazing! I think not, watch the clip again.

Naw, she only lipped the last part of the bridge and some of the belting afterwards.
Everything else was live. She performed the song twice – each was slightly different.

A lot of obvious lip syncing and I can’t believe the author didn’t call her out on it. Mariah is finally facing reality. She adds lip syncing not so she can shake her backside like Britney, but because her vocals fail now so often during live performance. Almost as bad as Whitney and some of her fans are equally as delusional as some of Whitney’s fans. Two GREAT singers of the past have been reduced to average (at best) singers. This is the first that I’ve heard of the cigarette theory but it would explain things. Of course we already have the explanation for Whitney. Beyonce better take heed/learn from their mistakes and take care of her precious gift.

LMAO if you slow people think she liped this song you don’t know any thing about music!!! I bet the ones making negative responses can’t even tell you what a c malor scale is, but can somehow call out wrong notes, sections liped, and etc…… LOL if you dont know the notes how do you know if they are wrong?
