Following a majorly successful stint in London’s West End adaptation of ‘Chicago’, Michelle Williams will be reprising the lead role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway adaptation, it has been announced.

The Destiny’s Child alum steps into Roxie’s famed stilleto’s, which were recently vacated by Ashley Simpson-Wentz, and will star in the production from February 8th to March 28th. Williams’ tenure in ‘Chicago’ comes after previous roles in ‘Aida’ and ‘The Colour Purple’.

DAG! Not one comment for Michelle who actually HAS a little talent but yet almost 30 comments for the boring mannequin Rihanna? Well CONGRATS to Michelle! I hope 2010 brings her and Kelly success and MUCH MORE because Lord knows they deserve it 🙂

tbh, i’d rather she stay doin’ broadway (which she’s done before and done very well) than continue her music career

i loved “unexpected” but she won’t ever be that successful IMO

MICHELLE IS A B-LISTER NOW. SHE HANGS ON TWITTER A FREAKIN LOT. THAT IMPLIES NO CAREER, SAD.

I was, and still am, a massive Destiny’s Child fan and love Beyonce and am a fan of kelly, but I just never really got into Michelle’s solo stuff. However I love when i hear that Michelle Williams is doing something good and she has got talent. I wish her all the success because people always put her down. She may not have been everyones favorite in DC but DC wouldn’t be the same without all 3 so people should at least give Michelle some credit.

Congratulations to Michelle. I am happy for her. Hopefully, she will be working on her next studio album shortly after her time on broadway.

I am glad she is finding success somewhere. I bought “Unexpected,” and remember a month later Beyonce’s new album dropped. I compared the two, and I liked Michelle’s more. It was a cool R&B/Dance album, but of course I knew when I bought it that it wasn’t gonna go anywhere. That was wrong how Columbia did her back in 08-drop her s*** just to get it over with and focus on their main bread winner. A similar scenario happened this past year with Amerie. Kelly and Michelle are doing the right thing by moving as far away from Bey’s camp as possible, though they took too long. I know those 3 are supposedly “family” and in any article they will probably say they are the best of friends. But if Beyonce sincerely cared about either one of them to the fullest, she would drop her crown just for one second and let the other have a turn. Ahh well, it’s the business. And we wonder why we don’t see music groups that much anymore, cause stuff like this happens where one gets the red carpet treatment and the others are left in the shadows. I’m not gonna hate on Beyonce though, she just goes with flow, she let the label do that anyway. If Michelle releases an album in the future, I will cop it still.
