BTS member V has opened up about an ongoing health battle, revealing that he is receiving treatment for significant hearing loss in his right ear.

The 30-year-old star shared that he has been dealing with the issue for more than two years, with the condition worsening during his mandatory military service.

V detailed the extent of his hearing loss during a Weverse livestream, explaining that he initially underestimated the problem and regarded it as “a matter of mental strength.”

Now, however, the singer says he takes medication and regularly visits the hospital for treatment.

“If the hearing in my left ear is at 100, it’s only about 30 in my right.”

The revelation comes as BTS continue their blockbuster ‘ARIRANG World Tour,’ which reunited all seven members on the road following the completion of their mandatory military service.

V enlisted in December 2023 and was discharged in June 2025, before rejoining his bandmates for their long-awaited group comeback.

During the same livestream, Jungkook also shared a health update of his own, revealing that he has been managing inflammation and potential microdamage in his shin that could develop into a stress fracture if not carefully monitored.

The pair’s candid updates arrive amid a huge comeback chapter for BTS. Earlier this year, the global superstars returned with ‘ARIRANG,’ their first full-length album since 2020’s ‘BE.’

The project went on to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, extending the group’s chart-topping run following their extended hiatus.
