Y’all need to quit hatin on Christina! I’m getting fucking sick of it! Rihanna and Lady Gag-Me take off more clothes in their videos than Christina does so you need to back the fuck off! I love how she compared the fact that guys get away with more than women do and that she’s all about female empowerment. I thought this was an outstanding interview. Toni was very honest(as usual) and it was refreshing and great to see how sweet and down to earth she is. I love her perspective on things, even though I see the questioning was clearly done in efforts to start controversy. Before anyone get to riled up over some of Toni’s preferences, let’s just realize that it was all done in good taste and let’s not feed into what Sam and others on this site set up to start ugly debates. I agree with some of the things Toni mentioned (on Gaga and Xtina), but I wouldn’t choose Mariah over Whitney. I also like Beyonce over the other artist that she was paired up against. Toni was only giving her opinion and not running away from the questions while Sam wanted to back her up against a wall. I respect it! I love Toni, I love Pulse. I wish her continued success and I admire her strength and positivity. Thanks Toni for being so interesting! I’m a big fan!

@ Jessica, I assume that you’re either underage or just stupid Toni Braxton has achieved more international success than even Rhianna….I know I know Rhianna is the epidome of walking across and stage and calling goat ts but it its true…once Rhianna goes diamond twice then you can talk until then sit down. The video which she referenced was “You’re making me high” you’ve heard of number one singles…yea that was one of them and that was back when there was actually competition when today there is few artist who aren’t birthed by a producer. anyway…..great interview probably the best one I’ve seen I’ve always loved Toni can’t wait for a rerelease. This is one that will be remembered for being good not because it made me laugh (IE Whitney and Diane interview)

I agree with Toni on that comment about the “sex” image in the music industry & how its biased as well. From what i’ve noticed, most of the ppl who judge female artist for being sexy in their videos are women themselves. the same women who gush over Trey Songz when he takes his shirt off in his videos.
Sam, i think you should do the rest of your interviews like this from now on. I thought this was so personable & we actually got to interact with the artist by watching them instead of reading what they say in response to your questions. Great interview by the way!

I liked the interview… It was great!
…but I have some remarks:
1. The sound was bad, I couldn’t hear some of the words clearly. Maybe you should put a clipped mic on the chest of the people you interview so that you won’t have to increase the volume of the overall sound afterwards and have too much noise…
2. Also, the background music was a little bit too loud compared to the sound of the mic and disturbed even more the clarity of the speech… (Because of the previous again…)
3. Your accent was too… British…
You would be more clear I think if you try to sound a little more American…

It’s no need to get upset and all bent out of shape with someone for sharing their opinion. Toni’s not bashing anyone in the game. She actually seems fair minded and every artist she’s talked about in all her interviews she praises. This isn’t the first interview where she mentions liking Rihanna. She has given her props before, it’s just that in this case the line of questioning required for her to pick a favorite. Seriously though, that isn’t the focus! Toni did deliver a solid album and I think it would be really nice if she’s able to have a solid 2nd and 3rd week on the charts. She’s deserving of it and I think she’s one of the few artist making real R&B music for everyone. It’s current, it’s great vocals and mainly it’s still talent in there for people that think it’s fading!

I have loved Toni since she came out. I am a 90′s baby and I love the fact that she’s still doing music. i remember when she finally returned to music scene with the Heat album I cried because she is one of my favorite artist and I was so glad that she made it thru all that chaos and bounced back full force. she is an icon to me and the new album is amazing. I wish her nothing but succes. Really good interview. This is the only interview you guys have done that was actually worth watching aside from Brandy’s. Good job Grapejuice!

Good job on the interview guys! I just wish that Toni would rest up and rehearse to join the Maxwell summer tour in the States. I think she would be an excellent compliment to him, much more so than Badu.
Real talk….the leaked “Pulse” is better than the actual release. “I Hate Love”, “Clockwork” and “Melt” are the business. I was more than a little disappointed that these tracks didn’t make the final release.
I agree with the poster that stated that most of the people who complain about sexed-up images of women ARE women. Particularly black women. I hear it from them ALL the time.

Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
