Now that is a VIDEO!!! I loved it. Don’t know why there is so much negativity towards Keri Hilson or any female artist in the music industry. I must say, Ms. Hilson is the one to watch. And by the way, she was not paying homage to Beyonce. If one looks at the video and know music history, she is portraying well known female artists or musical styles throughout the decades starting from Josephine Baker in the 1930s to 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, to the 90s with TLC and to the present as Keri Hilson. People not EVERYTHING a female artist – particulary a black female R&B artists – has to be connected to Beyonce. Music does not start or end with Beyonce. Come on and start showing intelligence and not this craze devotion to 1 artist.

Miss Keri upped her level on this one! I wish she would have paid tribute to Beyonce in the 2000s. It would have made for a seemingly more Pretty Girls for ALL tribute. I would be dishonest if I didn’t say that this did remind me of Beyonce’s Grammy Performance in 2006 for Tina Turner…where Beyonce also tributed all her icons. But at the end of the day, this video feels the most honest Keri has ever put out (Along with “Change Me”)…. (Did anyone catch that in her next video for “The Way You Love Me (which sounds like a “Ring the Alarm” knockoff) she will be a bounty hunter? Sounds suspious…like she will be hunting for Bey and Gaga in a “Telephone” continuation.)

I see your point. It’s debatable. I think Jermaine Jackson had quite a bit of fans in the Jackson 5. Destiny’s Child was all Beyonce. I still see her as a late 90’s artist, who has been in the public’s eye for 12 years. That’s 12 years of work, and I think Keri and a few other artist can improve themselves greatly given that span of time.
I tell you..Bee earned her crown, it wasn’t given to her, even in the right conditions. Keri has that same type of hunger.

WOW that’s all I gotta say. I’m not really one to sit and watch a music video but this one made had me from the begining with her dead on Josephine baker imitation the facial expressions were almost like watching B+*aker herself. Love the tributes to Dorthy Dandrige the Supremes, Janet Jackson and the scary but to exact impression of TlC. Actually had to look twice at that one. The concept for this video is deserves all the praise it is getting. Hats off to Ker Hilson!
