Trent, her album has already sold 500K+ in the UK alone, which brings it near the 2x platinum mark in less than two months. That’s a tremendous accomplishment, given 1) Lower sales in this era and 2) the fact that the UK’s population is 1/5 that of the US.
I sure hope Trent doesn’t get a lump of coal for Xmas, although he probably deserves one…

She hasn’t sold a great deal of albums, so YOU can stop reaching. Now, on to reality. This is her fastest selling album, and it had her highest first week sales. It did well by her standards. She can’t compete with Bey, Gaga, Taylor Swift or Even Nicki Minaj’s album sales at this point. Barring Good Girl Gone Bad, which she has never been able to match again.
That’s the reality of her ALBUM sales.

Rated R was Rihanna 4th full length studio album and has failed to reach the sales of The Fame Monster which was an EP and was Lady Gaga’s 2nd major release.
Rated R only reached No. 4 because it’s price was lowered in it’s first week of release by amazon. What does that tell you….
Even Loud won’t reach the sales of The Fame or even the Fame Monster. Rihanna is a SINGLES ARTIST and cannot sell albums as well as Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift or Beyonce

Actually, I accounted for her WW sales, which are so large mostly due to Good Girl Gone Bad. I said, “Barring Good Girl Gone Bad” her sales are not impressive, nor do they compare to other major pop-stars.” But, compared to herself, because she really has her own category at this point, LOUD did well.
Rihanna uses music to sell other products like other pop stars, but her influence seems to be more prominent in things other than her music. The music just turns the wheels of a multi-faceted business. She’s really got her own category. Gaga and Beyonce has influence way beyond music, but it starts with the music. Rihanna is the other way around. Her look and the other products are the beginning. It’s different, but she’s doing well, too.
