Keri Hilson made a recent promotional appearance on Power 105.1. During her interview, the ‘Breaking Point’ singer was asked to share her thoughts about Ciara’s underwhelming ‘Basic Instinct’ album sales to which she gave a peculiar answer.
Hilson also spoke about why Lil Kim’s verse on ‘Buyyou’ was not chosen and confirmed that the decision had nothing to do with the rapper’s feud with Nicki Minaj. Check out what she had to say below:

Everytime I read someone talks about flop and Mariah in the same sentence I just laugh. 10 years after her golden decade she is still selling 60,000-70,000 per week and some people say those things?? haha Your fav could never. The interviewer basically put Keri on the spot by asking her opinion on Ciara’s album sales. He did it again when he brought up Lil Kim’s verse being removed on one of Keri’s songs, and joked that Nicki Minaj must’ve called up Keri and told her to remove it.

I’m a ciara fan and keri’s first week sales probably will be better than Ci’s but will the album sale, it won’t do any better than her first album.Secondly,ciara also unfollowed others too so is she not cool with them anymore either????Yall stop reaching for somethin that ain’t there..Third,although keri didn’t shade ciara she is shady..If they’re supposed to be friends,why didn’t she atleast tell dude to chill out??And that dude is past lame..lol..We all see he ain’t makin too much money so I wouldn’t trip off of him.

I actually applaud Keri for not being a publicist’s puppet-no shade to any other artists because i do understand why they do that. I don’t think there was anything wrong with her answers because she was being as polite as she was desired and it shows you that she can be a genuine individual.. keri hilson should have said, regardless of her feeling towards ciara. ” me and ciara are cool, an she’s talented and i wish her the best of luck with her album”. everytime ciara has been asked about keri, she always replied “me and keri are cool, i’m, past that or i’m here to talk about my album or single or whatever” i don’t think keri hilson was shading ciara but when she said “ouch” towards ciara’s sales, a lot of ppl, like me, took that the wrong way. keri hilson shoulda just said “well i’m here to talk about no boys allowed” and kept it moving. in the music industry, one comment can end an artist’s career and keri shoulda learned from the turnin me on remix which almost ended her career before it even got started and to all the ppl saying ciara is a flop, 2 albums not selling well does not an artist a flop, i can bet money that if ciara keeps releasing singles/videos and keeps promoting basic instinct that it can pick up in sales, keri is the one who should be embarrassed at the fact that keyshia cole and jamie foxx barely promoted their albums and did not have not one hit single and are expected to sell 50,000 more than her when she’s been heavily promoting her album since september, ciara’s album didn’t sell well and the singles weren’t massively successful because they weren’t promoted at all. keri’s singles/videos and album have been promoted so much on BET, MTV, VH1 and Fuse and she’s only expected to sell just 90K while Keyshia and Jamie are expected to sell 140K, Ciara still sold 40K without any promo, so imagine if Ciara promoted Basic Instinct as much as Keri promoted her album, I can bet money that she woulda sold over 150K in the 1st week, just remember keri, ciara let u in the industry when fantasy ride didn’t sell well, if it sold over 1 million copies, you’d still be a nobody
