Former The Inc. crooner Lloyd may not be the king of charts with his most recent, critically acclaimed album ‘King of Hearts’, but he has to be respected for his promo grind. In a recent sit-down, the ‘Lay It Down’ singer reflected on the success of his gold-certified ‘Street Love’ (calling it ‘one of the better R&B albums of the last decade) and how much of a departure it is from his current release.
Young Goldie also shared thoughts on how he thinks his numerous tattoos will affect his career. See this and more after the jump:
While it is good to see Mr. Polite (his real last name) isn’t too shy in the ‘modesty department’, we’re certain there are many an R&B fan who would beg to differ with his claim. And, considering only a reported 37,000 units of ‘King of Hearts’ have moved from record shelves since it’s July 5th release, either his brilliance is a well-kept secret, or those buyers haven’t cared to share the news.

Street Love is a classic… So is Southside. I can’t get down with Lessons in love or somewhat with Kings of Hearts.

First of all I’m mad he cut his hair. Second Street Love is a classic. I didn’t buy King of Hearts because the Cupid single threw me off. When Lay It Down was at its peak they should have released King of Hearts. Lessons in Love was a great album as well.

But he does have a big ego and thinks he is the best, when he is clearly not.
