That was a big turning point in Rihanna’s life. Her team was able to take that media circus, and use it to her advantage, but her team is getting too cocky about bringing up the incident to bring eyes to her projects, and I fear it’s going to come back, and bit Rihanna in the ass. if you are going to do that then do it for every artist, there are always songs, that are geared towards mass appeal. those songs that the artist thinks could be #1. rihanna’s we found love is one of them, i hate the song, but i like the lyrics. bey’s run the world was suppose to be one, but failed. the only artist who i think hasn’t done it is adele. katy perry most of the songs on her album are geared toward mass appeal. but this is not a bad thing. look at the rest of the songs on the albums, even though rihanan has those songs she still puts other songs that aren’t made towards mass appeal on her albums, like man down, ckb, skin. she will have songs like that on TTT, even alot of the kings and queens of music have done it, cher, madonna, michael jackson. although the songs were a lot more iconic, they still did it.

so im not knocking Rih, my point is the credit for hits does not belong t her fans only but every fan of europop movement, of the David Guetta sound, same purchasers of Kesha, LMFAO music, pitbull etc. i think its safe to bring Beyonce in at this point, we can all agree that 4 sold/ is selling off the back of her name, the numbers may not be that high but its chart run is not bad at all (10 weeks in the top 10).
if its only her fans that get her to no1, why cant they manage 300k 1st week album sales? ok at least she eventually sold, what about Jlo, Flo Rida? they had hits too. Katy Perry has 5 no1 hits and it took over a year to go 2xplatinum and less than 4mllion ww. we know how many no1s Bey had in prev eras and what her sales were like
and can u stop saying Beyonce was the ____ in 2003 like she hasnt been successful since then, her biggest era was IASF, yeah the album sold less than DIL but she actually sold more records, her best selling single ww is between IIWAB and Halo and single ladies is prolly more popular than CIL. lets not forget that 100m+ grossing tour, she OBVIOUSLY went a diff direction with 4 CUS SHE CAN, she may not have the hits but it hasnt made her any less popular, u dont want me to list the proof her popularity from this year alone, do yah?
