As one who searched the corners of the earth to find why anyone would support this farce of a movement she calls a career, watching this made the answer oh-so-apparent.
Everything around Ms. Fenty (and to some extent, Ms. Fenty herself) is overly on-point. From the video treatments, to her personality, to the the producers baking hits for her, to the PR’s who cook up elaborate stunts like this. It’s all engaging and fascinating. Yet qualitatively amounts to nothing , as she lacks where it most matters – talent.
Still, with the industry increasingly embracing smoke and mirrors, ol’ RiRi clearly has some mileage left. After all, we’re in an era where the media and popular opinion stay “telling” folk who’s “hot” and “successful”. Even if album and tour sales say otherwise.
