For today, in what will be sure to have many a ‘Navy member’ seething, Adele has snatched the #1 spot from the Pop star, ending her 10 week reign on the Billboard Hot 100.

In at #1 is Adele’s ‘Set Fire To The Rain‘ and for the 17th time since debuting, her album ‘21‘ is the highest selling LP in the US.
This now means she has beaten the record- previously held by ‘The Titanic’ soundtrack- for spending the most weeks at #1 on the album chart between the two, and now ties with Billy Ray Cyrus‘ 1992 effort, ‘Some Gave All Back’.
Elsewhere, Katy Perry‘s ‘The One That Got Away‘ climbs one place up to #5 while Jessie J celebrates her first top ten hit with ‘Domino‘, which is this week’s 10.
Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Turn Me On’ sits at #4, despite being the highest selling digital single of the week and ‘The Thrones’ ‘Nxgga’s In Paris’ holds court at #9, after spending last week at #7.

Correction she did it in 3 years with independent women in 2000, 10+ weeks at number 1. And on the solo tip in 2006with Irreplaceable (10 consecutive weeks) and that is 9 years and her 2nd Solo album….So how did 9 become 16? Hell baby boy was 9 weeks. When will RiRi see over 5 weeks at number 1 again? Hmm 4 albums later proably.
