Earlier this week, we reported the news that Baby Face and Toby Gad had signed onto produce cuts for JLS’ upcoming album.
The follow up to the critically panned ‘Jukebox‘, the LP received a major promotional boost hours ago, when the band announced that the legendary maestro Darkchild is one of its many masterminds.
Full story below…
Taking to their Twitter account, they beamed:
“In the studio with Rodney Jerkins… this guy sold 140million records in his 1st 10 years in music!!!!!! INSANE!!”
While this is great news for the boys, we hope they realize it takes a lot more than big named producers to score a hit album.
Because, as famed as they are in the UK, JLS are only ‘surface successful’. In short, when you look past the #1 singles and #1 albums, there’s really nothing there.
We hope that working with legends like Darkchild, Baby and Gad will force the band to create a truly cohesive sound, and not an LP filled with singles that could have been recorded by any Tom, Dick or Harry.

They still can’t sing, and i don’t know the last time Rodney had a hit. I’m not looking forward to hearing strained vocals on a track
