Fantasia is back!
The American Idol alum spuing an early Christmas gift on fans today with the premiere of new single ‘Lose To Win’.
A marked shift in sound for the soulful songbird, the track is the first to be lifted from the 28 year old’s fourth studio album. Presently due in March, the arrival of the set’s lead release in the closing window of 2012 suggests she’s on-schedule for a first quarter launch.

I love the song. It is real timeless and has such a great groove. I just don’t see it going too far with radio. It’s not going to fit on an Urban station and pop radio never plays her. It’s sad. They play b******* like Ke$ha but real music doesn’t even get heard by the masses. She needs a more urban single to please the masses. She pleased me tho. Get yo Tina Turner on Tasia! Love it!

great single. However its not a first single. As someone said you first single should be epic. And this doesn’t scream epic to me. Its typicall RnB (which nice for fans)however you have to really push the boundary to create an impact

Not feeling it. And I think it has something to do with the lion king/80’s sounding beat which just sounds weird with her vocals and throws me off. But yeah it is reminiscent of Tina turner. Just not as great as I imagined. I do love her voice though. So soulful.
What’s not to love about it? Fantasia is definitely one of the current generation’s biggest assets. If it wasn’t for her, I would have completely written our generation off as talentless. This girl can “sell” any song she sings.

This song comes from The Commadores. The song is called Night Shift. I liked the song back then but as far as this single. It’s okay. Maybe over time I will like it a little more. I will always support Fantasia though.

I LOVE it!!! I actually think it’s going to be one of those sleeper hits that people don’t like at first but then after they hear it a few times, you’ll be singing along! I hope it gets the promo and radio spins it needs. I can tell this was a risk to take for a first single but it sounds really good! Bringing it back to real music as she always does, I hope this is destined for the top of the charts!

This is nice. It feels good, sounds good and I want more of it. I don’t think every lead single had to be super intense, epic and vicious. A solid song that slowly grows into a hit is more appropriate and gives and album legs – e.g. Miguel’s Adorn, Kelly Clarkson’s Mr. Know It All etc. Go ‘Tasia!
