I think Kelly tries too hard. She seems to forget all the practice she had with DC. There is no reason for her to be singing off pitch and trying so hard after all of them years singing backup for Beyonce. When DC had to tour Kelly was not only doing backup but she also had to sing lead a little bit here and there on songs and dance at the same time for years. No reason why she could not be as cool and collective as Keri on stage. Keri knows her limited vocal range and is comfortable singing in her own key on stage and I have yet to see her try too hard like Kelly did. If Kelly was trying to compete with Adam Lambert then she should have realized that even though he is a drag queen he is still a man so naturally his voice is going to be louder and stronger than hers.
So. I’m over in the UK. I can not watch the show but I knew what the outcome would be. EVERYBODY (including Demi) sounding >>>>>>>>>>>> Kelly Rowland…and true to form.
Why show up? Why do that to yourself? Why not dedicate time and effort to perfecting your voice so you can do yourself proud in front of millions. She IS Donna Summer, yet she allowed a white dude and KERI F***** HILSON to make her look like….she needs to fire all them people around her and the fools in sound check who approved that mess.

Gotta agree, I was really disappointed with Kelly’s performance. That whole Donna Summer tribute looked like caberet, it didn’t do tribute to Donna’s music or voice whatsoever. She may have had a large gay following but that doesn’t mean it should have been the camp mess that it was.
The Whitney tribute however, was a different thing. She was really paid tribute to; excellent vocalists with STAGE PRESENCE which Whitney had in abundance. I was surprised to see Ledisi, Sparks and Fiona with so much energy and on point vocals.
The worst thing is that out of ALL those performers it’s KELLY who has the most experience. She precedes nearly everyone there by at least a decade and she’s put in the so-so section to sing bits of a tribute when she could easily have done her OWN tribute section to BOTH artists and lead everyone else! Wasn’t it Kelly who cited both Whitney and Donna as being two of her biggest influences? Sigh, you see, if Kelly had come of that basic “Motivation/Ice” nonsense she’d be taken more seriously and probably could’ve lead the whole thing. Instead she’s thrown the Donna Summer section and handles it like a B-rate artist…

Kelly did more than Donna usually did in her songs. Not recognizing different times, different styles, and having unrealistic fan expectations can make you unfairly judge this performance! There is only so many ways to sing “Last Dance”, especially in a tribute where you don’t want to stray to far from how the original artist sang it! She did amazing but it seems like I didn’t miss much since everyone on twitter was wishing for beyonce, Jennifer hudson, whitney, etc. However, I did catch some of the whitney tribute ans was HIGHLY disappointed. Guess they couldn’t afford, beyonce, jh, or brandy.

She needed a bit more shimmer and pop and a lot more control and finesse. This could and should have been a new disco diva beginning for Ms Rowland but the voice let it down.
Her dance strut has gone down from her Ms Kelly performance days though, she was killing when she had those female bk dancers, she was rivalling Bey .
She has mad stage presence though, when she’s not being OTT extra.

First off donna summer slays 99% of the singers of this generation and that’s even in her later years. That was an awful tribute to her. I love Kelly I’ve been down since the self titled debut album of destiny’s child. WTF happened to her voice? She at one point sang better than Beyonce. Now I think Michelle could stand up to her. Dear Kelly work on that voice it has so much potential. Keri hilson also sounded a flat and squeaky mess. Adam was ok but how do you people dog Christina when he hit that sharp ass out of sync note(plus he almost fell). I haven’t wasted my time with a divas show since 2004. The year Patti Labelle,Beyonce,Jewel,and Cyndi did their thing…None of these girls hold a candle to the old divas shows

Kelly R started epic but crashed after that horrible note she belted,then she bounced back with those s*** sultry vocals when she started singing last dance then she took it to church and proved she is a vocalist,but it was too late cause Adam had already reached the finish line and stole the show.
Kelly Rowland did great in the beginning. It wasn’t until the last song she was singing so deep and manly. Her ending was strong though. Adam Lambert looked a hot mess, but sung well. Keri was not needed and it was painful to watch her perform and hear her sing. SHE HAS ALWAYS HAD A WEAK VOICE and she was struggling trying to hit notes, but didn’t hit any. She’s so bony as well. It looked like she was about to break when trying to sing. Ciara did horrible! It’s funny how people are so quick to say she did well because she danced a little. Her MJ tribute was humiliating and she did the same technical moves… no real power energy and small, weak voice.
