‘She Bad Bad’ and now she’s back back! Rapstress Eve is gearing up for the release of her new album ‘Lip Lock’ (due May 14th) and is hitting the promo rounds early in support of the set.
The femcee, who now lives in London, stopped by The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 New York for a super insightful chat.
Relaxed, yet poised, the former Ruff Ryder dished on her hiatus, comeback, being an independent artist, and much more. Perhaps most interesting, though, were her words on fellow femcees Nicki Minaj and Azealia Banks – the latter of who she alludes turned down a collaboration request.

There is a certain air of refreshing when seeing seasoned acts such as Eve do away with the media politics and tell it how they feel it. Indeed, without roasting anyone, the 34 year old came across classy, confident, and as an artist who clearly has more to give.
Needless to say, then, roll on May! We can’t wait to get our ears “locked” on to her new material.

I love Eve’s honesty when they were grilling her with questions about the Nicki & Minaj. Eve’s response to the questions about Nicki Minaj were the definition of Class, Honesty, Realness & Sisterhood. Eve also made a very valid point when it comes to their comparison, she said Me & Nicki are in two different lanes ( So their is no comparison when it comes to their music). I also applauded Eve when she said ” She could rock with some stuff like Girl On Fire, but not when some of her other material”, what she really said was ” She didn’t like Star Ship’s”. Coming from a Female Mc’s perspective that was Positive Critique, so her feelings towards Nicki are self explanatory. But I would like to have Nicki & Eve on the same record, it wold be dope..
