Ciara is serving all-new-everything!
For hot off unveiling the cover and new title of her 5th studio album, the R&B diva has now announced a new release date for the hotly anticipated set.
Originally due on June 4th, the now self-titled project will now arrive on…
… July 9th 2013, according to the star’s label Epic Records.
Shade as some may, in light of the project’s iffy start, we’re all for Cici wiping the slate clean in the way she has. New title, new lead single, new release date…and hopefully a new chance.
Of course, re-tooling everything after selling the ‘One Woman Army’ name for almost a year carries a certain degree of risk. A high one at that. As such, with three months now remaining before the LP hits stores, we feel a ‘One Woman Army’ mixtape featuring select tracks that didn’t make the new LP (as well as versions of initial “launch” singles ‘Sorry’ and ‘Got Me Good’) would be smart.
In any case, the focus for now seems to be lead single ‘Body Party’, the video premiere of which has been confirmed for April 22nd.

I like that she is getting another chance. This young generation kills me. Tina turner’s first 5 solo albums were complete flops, Patti Labelle didn’t achieve solo success until almost 10yrs into her solo career..there are plenty of stars who can relate. No I’m not equating Ciara to them, I’m just saying..back in the day..if you flopped the record labels moved on and gave you a chance if you had a core fanbase..Problem is unlike then, the market is flooded with way too many artist. If ciara was going to make a comeback…I think it would’ve happened by now. Instead of going on dates with future and hanging with other stars..she could’ve been a feature on a more popular artist song build buzz from that. Truth be told, the biggest mistake Ciara made was abandoning Fantasy Ride..when it tanked that album was everything that the radio had and needed at the time, actually she delayed the hell out of that album too
This might upset people, but she could release this album for 5.99 and it would still spell impending doom for an already almost gone career. Mark my words, this will be her last album with a label backing her..Good luck though..ill still buy the album.
The difference between Ciara and the artists u named is that Ciara came out on top. Her first single was #1 for 7 weeks and her album went on to sell three million copies. It was a downward slope from there. She peaked so early in her career. Her second album only sold about 1.3 million copies and I don’t believe she had any #1 hits from it. Unfortunately, Ciara was a fad artist. People moved on after crunk&B died. The public now sees her as a joke/laughing stock.

Well clearly the title chanqe and new release date didn’t affect buyers because the album is already #2 on iTunes R&B Albums and #60 on iTunes Main Albums Chart, based off preorders. Now it seems she finally has everythinq under control, confirmed date, confirmed tracklistinq, new lead sinqle and pretty much a fresh start. She’s gonna start promotinq next week when she appears on 106 & Park to premiere the video to Body Party. So she has all of May and June to formally promote the album. I know she’s gonna be performinq at the BET Awards, which airs 2-3 wks before her album is released so that’ll definitelt give her a huge boost in sales. I’m guessing the album already has a solid 20k in preorders. The promo will boost that by a solid 50k so that’ll be at least 75k plus a BET Awards performance could give her an additional 25k so that’s a good 100k at least, plus Body Party and a 2nd single so she could actually sell a solid 125-135k in the 1st wk tbh and she if continues to promote in the summer and drops 2-3 more strong sinqles, “CIARA” could actually sell well tbh, I see this album honestly sellinq 750k in the US and around 2 million WW
