Exclusive: Ashanti Offers ‘Braveheart’ Update

Published: Thursday 4th Jul 2013 by Sam

For almost too long, now, Ashanti‘s fifth studio album ‘Braveheart’ has been “coming soon”.

Indeed, preceded by a slew of singles, the project’s release date has almost become a myth.

Still, her fans fervently await the LP which follows 2008’s criminally underrated effort ‘The Declaration’.

Ever keen to ask the questions you really want answers to, we caught up with the former INC singer at Debra Lee’s Pre-BET Awards Gala and quizzed her on what she’s up to and when (exactly) ‘Braveheart’ will live up to its billing and arrive in stores. Find out what she said above!

Are you excited about ‘Braveheart’?

One thing I’ve always admired about Ashanti is she has always had a great personality. She is always very positive. I hope Braveheart does well but, we’ll see.

Baybyy, NO ONE is excited for Ms .Braveheart especially when tired ass promo pics like that Above are floating around as supposedly an album cover…….

I like Ashanti, but she needs to give us more, Her first couple records were everything!!!

Maybe she needs a total REVAMP of her entire project, SCRAP EVERYTHING AND START OVER,
like CIARA’s label did with her…

And please dont tell me shes still trying to make that private label s*** work! Somebody get this b**** a new deal with a top label!

I almost like her better in chick-flicks at this point!

        “John Tucker Must Die” anyone???

I can’t wait to hear Braveheart. She is underrated in my book and it doesn’t matter if it don’t sell as much because in her mind she feels confident with her work. I’ve noticed she’s always been a positive person. Best of luck to you Ashanti! 🙂

ashanti pleeeeze find a major label to sign you!! stop being hardheaded! the independent route is not for you!

I agree, I know labels are crooks but they will give her the platform she needs. It’s almost impossible to be artist, promoter and label head. She has had some good singles but she needs help, she can’t do it alone.

Although I don’t think much of Ashanti as a singer, I respect any artist who will go the independent route to make the music they love and not be guided by the restraints of a major (or not supportive) record label. Some of my favourite albums have come form indie artists and although may have not been major sellers are classics.

She needs to start all over again tbh…find a label,do mixtapes and several guest appearances, live shows,a north american mini-tour (collaborative tour if possible),book acting gigs on stage,tv and films…She has to be everywhere because as positive as i am that the album will have some great tracks, the demand, sadly, isn’t quite there…Best of luck though.

Yesterday, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see
if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation.

My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely
off topic but I had to share it with someone!

I would have punched that b**** in the face hunny!

      Not the iPad!

I have always liked Ashanti because she is full of positive energy. I can not wait for Braveheart. With a title and a cover like that, it’s hard to be patient. Best of luck to you, Ashanti! I can’t wait for the album to come out!
