TLC’s Final Album Scores Summer Release Date

Published: Wednesday 5th Apr 2017 by Rashad

‘Red Light Special’ singers TLC have finally gotten the green light for a release date on their fifth and final album.

A fan-funded affair thanks to a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $430,000, the project courted controversy when fans feared those funds were being misused after an album did not turn up in a timely fashion.

Alas, via official word from the duo’s manager, Bill Diggins, the group’s faithful follower’s needn’t fret as the long-awaited LP will be delivered this summer.  Keeping his word, as promised in an open letter penned months ago, read his latest thoughts inside:

“The album date is firm, June 30th is the release of the new TLC album that you made happen,” says Bill Diggins.

“Tionne and Chilli have been working night and day to hit this date. The video and a photo shoot [is] on April 18th, 19th, 20th. I hope that you all read the article in The Guardian last week on why TLC’s comeback is so important, it is a great read on the group that you love and you should be proud that you made this album happen.”

The first taste of what the album is serving may have come a few weeks ago via an episode of FOX’s hit series, ‘Star.’  If you missed a snippet of the tune ‘Wayback,’ click here to hear it.

The writer of the Guardian article doesn’t know TLC very well to say the group ended with Lisa’s death. Chilli and T-Boz have been very adamant that TLC is forever, and they have always continued to perform as the same group by incorporating as much of Lisa’s creativity as possible. They always pay respect to her and never pretend to be anything else but TLC.

    I hope they get successful.

Without Lefteye it’ll never be the same again.
