Toni Braxton Sets February 2018 Release Date For New Album ‘Sex & Cigarettes’

Published: Saturday 21st Oct 2017 by Rashad

Just days after hitting headlines for denying (via a spokesperson) rumors of marriage to hip hop mogul Birdman, R&B icon Toni Braxton is putting the spotlight back on her own ventures with updates on her highly anticipated new album.

Kicked off by the critically acclaimed ‘Deadwood,’ the project, titled ‘Sex & Cigarettes,’ comes as her first solo outing since 2010’s ‘Pulse’ and first overall since 2014’s ‘Love, Marriage, and Divorce’ – the Grammy-winning duet album with longtime collaborator Babyface.

Taking to CNN to discuss the project and her career at large, Braxton weighed in on how her bankruptcy changed the scope of music contracts forever as well as gave fans a timeline on when to expect her next opus:

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for more news on the project as it becomes available! Roll on February 2018!

Toni makes 50 look AMAZING, my GAWD…she looks fantastic and sounds great…her last project was a commercial success, but I think she can get back to even more certifications….Toni, Whitney, Mimi, Barbra, Celine and now Adele connected with older audiences at very young ages…Toni is nowhere near Barbra Streisand’s age, and Barbra is still collecting certifications! Toni should reach out to Bruno (like Adele did) and The Weeknd by way of Babyface on the production side…Ryan Tedder too…Toni’s team needs to study EXACTLY where Barbra and Adele are getting their coin lol…her new album sounds like her signature sound (judging from the first single) and that’s ALL she should do from here on…she can still get younger artists to craft her signature sound…90’s artists like Xscape are headlining for the first time and doing arenas…I’ve never seen Toni in concert and I KNOW I would go to an arena tour…she’s looks WAY too good and sounds exactly the same to not get back to multiplatinum (with streams of course)…Adele, love her tho, is kinda pitchy already lol

I’d always been a casual Toni listener but after finally hearing the Pulse album in its entirety last month I will be getting this day 1. Deadwood grew on me and I love the moodiness of it.

OK! Why are people on here trying to give TONI BRAXTON coaching advice and career tips?? Talking Adele and Barbara Streisand…please!!! Neither of them compare to Queen “T” she has been doing this for (count them) 25 years now. Just watched her get honored at the Soul Train Awards yesterday. Totally flawless!!! She is AGELESS!!! So yeah, save all that rhetoric and just be a FAN, let her be the ARTIST and VISIONARY! I think her history and achievements prove she is MUCH more than capable. #QUEEN”T” #TONINATION #❤TONI4LIFE
