It seems VH1 made the right move by opting to place Rita Ora and not Karrueche Tran at the helm of ‘America’s Next Top Model‘s relaunch.
For, after seeing its ratings slip and slide at The CW, the show’s revamped version has picked up its highest-ratings in five years.
Good news below…
Monday’s night premiere drew in 1.7 million viewers, the highest number the show has seen in the last five years thanks to intense promotional efforts implemented by its leading lady Rita.
The show’s creator Tyra Banks still stands as its executive-producer and supported the revival by appearing on Monday night’s episode alongside Ora and her judging crew.
“Model” wrapped its initial run on the CW last December, drawing 1.2 million viewers for its finale. The series aired for 12 years and 22 seasons on the CW and its predecessor, UPN. The CW announced in October, 2015, that the 22nd season would be its last.
Its impressive numbers have now given TV insiders good reason to believe it will be renewed for a “second” season before its first cycle wraps in 2017.

I love it. Rita’s personality shines and she was the perfect cast for the show. I just love the entire feel of the show now…it feels like a real modeling show now and not just some crazy put on for tv show.
the show does give a more “Raw” take on reality tv. not overly glossy or goofy to create personalities, but to get models. antm, with tyra, became a goofy competition show, she was not taken seriously, the show wasnt taken seriously.

It’s come to this. Celebrating a show with a .6 rating and a 1.5 share (just guessing). Cable, Netflix, and youtube have splintered the market for real.
1.7 million viewers, and people still don’t know who she is. So her fans might want to keep Rihanna’s name out of their mouths.

Please. It’s a show that’s been doing well. Nothing but curious people wanting to see how she did. I didn’t even know it aired.
It has more to do with it being led in by two love and hip hop episodes. We’ll see how it really does in weeks to come, but congrats girl.
High rating don’t mean a good show, it means that people tuned in so they can drag her to the filthiest sess pits as they have been.
The reviews haven’t been great and I’ll be watching online so she don’t get my view.

As much as I feel Rita is all over the place instead of music 1st, the one thing she doesn’t lack is a good personality.
Hoping winner of this can be taken seriously like back in the days even if as a commercial high street model rather than high fashion.
