Entertainment Tonight last night ran a feature on Beyonce’s latest foray into the acting world – ‘Obsessed’, which also stars Brit Idris Elba and that woman from ‘Heroes’ (LOL). The movie, which hits theatres in April 2009, looks really good judging by the clip above.
I’m admittedly a bit cynical when it comes to Beyonce and her acting (‘Dreamgirls’ being her best movie showing to date), so I’ll definitely be paying close attention to this one, as it’s her first non-musical role.

Her best acting job to date is CADILLAC RECORDS by far…I seen a actress…i didnt see Beyonce…

I wanna see it. The preview looked good. I don’t expect an oscar-winning performance so I won’t be too disappointed either way. It looks like it’s just as good as any other predictable “thriller” that comes along – we know how it will end but the ride is still fun!

Sorry but beyonce acting in cadillac records makes her acting in dreamgirls look like amateur. She was truly etta james in that movie, my grandma was in the days of etta and she even said beyonce did a good job. lol but as for this movie obsessed. She sure knocked the S*** of ole white girl there. damn. Beyonce got fierce. lol
Beyonce can’t act and the only reason why directors put her in movies is because she is really famous. She played a singer in every movie except this one and she could not pull off a quality performance. I am not hating on her success, but I’m not going to pretend like she her acting is good. I love Dreamgirls but Beyonce only said two words in the movie, which made it better than any of her other acting roles to me.
cadillac records proved beyonce can act when she really goes deep and gets into character and that is her best actin so far, and dreamgirls is a classic and her name is second billing so she will always b rememered when ever you look @ the cover or see it
as for this it looks soooo good i dont think her actin will b better in this than CR but it looks like a great movie still
This is the second movie with a great female singer that I’m really anxious to see very soon. The other one is “Tennessee” with Mariah Carey :). I haven’t seen Beyonce in a movie yet so it’ll be interesting. I hope both Beyonce and Mariah do great and I wish them lots of success with their careers… :))

movie looks good..but Beyonce cant act. i think her biggest problem is the way she speaks..i’m from houston so i can really her that southern drawl..she needs to learn how to tone that down when she is acting in certain movies cuz i’m not seeing the character she is playing…i just see beyonce

i love beyonce as an artist; however, she does need to take acting classes and proper english speaking classes; her southern accent, always takes away, making her unbelievable. Come on poppa Knowles, enroll Bey into some etiquette and speech lessons; tightn ur investment.

Would she please just stop it!!! I luv Beyonce as a singer to the death…..but the child cannot act, PLAIN & SIMPLE!! No it's not hating just because you say she can't act, that's the honest truth. She only gets roles because movie executives are too lazy to discover true talent and they figure well she's huge in the music game that means she will bring big bucks to the movies. Her name will bring big bucks opening weekend but once people witness her atrocious acting the numbers will fall, case in point "Cadillac Records", I live in Atlanta and it has been pulled from most of the theatres already. Look Beyonce is beautiful, a great dancer, singer and overall performer, there are just somethings that should be left up to the pro's and she cannot act. Never has never willl.
Well one main reason why Beyonce will never be a good actress is because of her speech. Her southern dialect is too thick, she really needs to invest in an accent reduction class or she needs to anunciate her words better. Beyonce has terrible speech and it is a distraction in her acting.
