It has a lot more energy than “Growing Pains”, which is nice. On first listen, it sounds like it’ll be a solid album. “Good Love” sounds very hot.

  5. Gareth December 7, 2009

This is a pleasant surprise actually. I wasn’t convinced that this album would be all hat great but I gotta say, thi is a fairly solid album. Not much in the way of filler from these clips. Good job (“,)

  6. Lovinman December 7, 2009

Yes!!! One thing about Mary is that she knows how to compose a solid album, not to mention she delivers QUALITY work. I’ll be buying.

  7. THE TRUTH December 7, 2009

ONLY 3 GOOD TRACKS, THE REST SOUND THE SAME! HO HUM….. I EXPECTED MORE DIVERSITY, ALL MID TEMPO RNB. KINDA BORRRRING!!!!!!!!! SHE REALLY HAS NO RANGE AS A SINGER. SMH.

  8. Fashionisto December 7, 2009

  9. mel December 7, 2009

    ~everybody hates sam~

  10. Nick December 7, 2009

Only 12 tracks with 6 of them already released or leaked – and the record company will wonder why the opening week sales will be around 150,000 rather than Breakthrough’s 650,000

  11. caroline December 7, 2009

THIS SITE IS B*******, AS SOON AS ANYONE POSTS PRO RIHANNA COMMENTS IT GETS DELETED BY TRENT OR SAM. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, NOT COMEING ON HERE AGAIN!!!!

  12. Its Me Again December 7, 2009

    ^^^ …?

…Rihanna is the best RnB vocalist of all time…

  13. Its Me Again December 7, 2009

    ^^^^

Let’s see if that’ll be deleted.

@Caroline why were you commenting about Rihanna in this post anyway…? Seriously… it aint that deep.

  14. MisterDustin December 7, 2009

MJB always delivers… Im a fan, so maybe Im biased… HOWEVER they’ve gotta step the promotion game up. Mary is an industry vet who deserves A-list exposure. Im prediciting opening week sales of 250,000-300,000.

  15. Simply Phillip Brown December 7, 2009

    Wow Sam!

Each and every time I try to reach out to you, I get no response. It has been two years now, I am not here by any means to put you down like other various sites have because I have always respected you.

I still work for the same two publications as I did over 3 years ago, and I still run the site over at “Real Talk With Simply Brown” , hoping you’ll add me to your blog roll, as I have you and we can be affiliates, don’t let a few people make it so you don’t trust any of us. A lot of us are professional and above the childish drama, hopefully you will respond and if not, this will be the last message I send to you,

  17. Darrell H-Town December 8, 2009

  18. AREIS December 9, 2009

I’m totally not feeling the direction of this CD, Growing Pains was half there, but now this boring s*** has to stop. Mariah Memories of Imperfect Angel is better than this. But it goes to show no matter how big you are in the industry the people have to be feeling you. Prepare yourself for another flop. This is what happens when you do a lot of push backs, didn’t she learn from Mariah Carey. Where are the features? FLOP ABLUM and just because you’re selling your cd the week of Christmas Mary is not going to help you sell 650,000 first weeks sorry you missed it. Oh I forgot that hair style you know you stole it from Kandi of the House Wife’s of Atlanta (xscape). Okay 2 divas down this year let’s see what Toni and Janet will be proving next year with the LPs

those 2 named THE TRUTH and ARIES are straight up haters

Mar y never had a real flop album and none of the songs on the album sound the same some is very soulful n classic some is a lil pop wit r&b and some mid tempo r&b some even got a 90’s flavor.. and to ARIES Mary always sold high in the 1st wk compared to Mairah.. especially in da new decade.. dumb b****.. i heard all the snippets n some potential bonus tracks her whole album can be compared to her previous album the Breakthrough n Growing Pains..which is way betta than “Memoirs of an Imperfect s***” lol its gun’ betta than them pop b****** albums ya’ll know Mary music was always betta music than them pop b****** anyway.. not only is she appealing to a wider audience now.. she’s doin crazy promotion(singing live all fall to Dec.) and releasing during Christmas rush.. that’s a guarantee #1 for a while.. and FYI the Breakthrough and Growing Pains kept getting push back n guess what?? Crazy 1st week sales for both of them 730,000 n 630,000 both number 1 for a while too.. Haters is gun’ always hate even if its about to be a new decade and its getting old..

  20. AREIS December 16, 2009

to Shut ur mouth0 or the who ever this sit down number 5 person is

if you only knew your history…. it would be better to understand where your comming from until Mary drops her ablum we will see who will rush out to buy the Repeated b******* we have heard already form the Growing Pains era. Let’s just face who’s checking for her, too busy being the one I guess I miss it. I’m not saying shell get that number one spot but her album numbers want be high sells. Bottom line let’s face it her time is really up. Beyonce still the queen and Keyshia Cole is out doing Mary. Sad. I would give her this she came along way and it’s always the hood that praises her as a Queen. It’s a S***** situation

  21. Darrell H-Town December 20, 2009

@ Aries lol u funny thats all i can say Mary is the Queen sorry boo boo

  22. truth December 21, 2009

this album is HORRIBLE. THE WORST SHE HAS RECORDED SINCE NO MORE DRAMA.

  23. Lorenzo January 6, 2010

Yeah I think she is getting a bit ridiculous with this harping on the sadness thing….what happen to “Mary ain’t mad no more”? That was what the were using to push the last album or so. Bottom line is that there is no promotion really, and when she bit off doing the Auto-tune thing from “Obsessed” it was really a wrap. @SHUTITDOWN5 sure Mary has great opening weeks, but think about it….May’s Sold 48 million albums in her Career….THAT”s what MusicBox sold worldwide.
