Amerie & 4Minute Rock ‘Music Bank’

Published: Friday 26th Mar 2010 by Sam

In Amerie‘s latest performance in her mother’s native of Korea, she teamed up with girl group 4Minute to give a special rendition of her song ‘Heard Em All’ on the Music Bank show today. Though many outside of Asia may not have heard of 4Minute, they are hugely successful in their continent, hence making the performance of particular interest for many. See how they fared above…

Awesome performance! Amerie’s swagger, vocals, and look were overly on-point, while 4Minute nailed it. Good stuff.

Love it! Oh, how I wish a full Asian act could break through here! I’m not knocking Amerie because I think she’s beautiful and talented, but I wonder if she would’ve had success in the States if she weren’t half black?

Personally I dont think her race has anything to do with it.
She looks very exotic and that should help her crossover, she’s had success in the past, but the label dropped the ball with this album & the single choices didnt help either
But she isnt giving up internationally, after this she’ll be hitting the U.K in a few days

yet another great performance from A
she killed the bridge & its my fav part of the song

    @ID

Race has plenty to do with it. There are lots of talented Asian singers in the States, yet no full Asian, American pop stars of note. The only ones I can even remotely think of are mixed raced i.e. Amerie and Cassie.

good performance, but she really should’ve gone with a different single

I love Amerie. So underrated. I wish she had sang Higher or Tell Me You Love Me. Those two songs are damn mad!

    Love it!

Good performance. The fist part of the choreography reminds me of Kelly Rowland ‘Work’

This looked like a performance catering more to 4minute than Amerie. I don’t see how everything was “overly” on point Sam, but it was a solid performance.

Amerie is a beast!!! And high-energy songs, with fun choreography suits her very well.

4 Minute wasn’t shortstopping at all, and really put it down. Their dance moves were crisp, and didn’t look as if they were trying too hard – to be honest, I enjoyed their choreography more than the original dance for the song.

All in all, I really enjoyed Amerie’s last album, and I hope that she can finally find a record label that will respect her talent! This song had HIT written all over it, from the chorus, to the beat – but due to poor promotion, few live performances, and no radio-spins, the song disappeared into oblivion. I don’t get it, if you recognize that a song has the potential to bring in revenue and billboard rankings, and the artist has a history of making good songs, why not promote them. Shame on you L.A. Reid, Big ups to you Amerie!

Amazing! This is what people should be stanning over. Not these non-talented, manufactured, watered-down, bubblegum-pop “singers” the industry is trying to shove down our throats.

wow… that was well well practiced! im surprised they put that much time on it, she must have a huge fan base over ther

WOW I THINK THIS IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE I THINK OF AMERIE I HAVE SEEN 2 BAD IT WAS IN ASIA WHERE NO1 CUD REALLY C IT HMM

  15. Craver March 26, 2010

Honestly…I enjoyed 4Minute’s contributions to the song more than Ameries’. It just kind of seemed like a lot of random gyrating and Amerie didn’t even attempt to sing half of the lyrics. I l love her and all but…it was okay.

The performance was really good from all the girls.. The only reason I can’t fully get behind Amerie is her vocals but I like her and she has been putting in work for a long time. I wish her success and I agree that L.A. Reid and them dropped the ball on her. That was the entire reason she went to Def Jam was the PR team and then they abandoned her IMO.

Didn’t know who 4 Minutes were but they were really good, dancing was great!

wow amazing performance! also im amazed that this web site haven’t posted this video of Jason Derulo when he visited Korea and performed with Brain Joo when they sang together for “In my head” in my opinion Brian sang it better. Note* Brain Joo offical first single is “In my head”(korean version)

I thought this performance was really good. And you have to give it up to the group 4minutes. They slayed. One of her best performances to date. Although I do hate when she sings this live because the lyrics are far and in between. Like it’s to much space.

I am an Amerie fan, not because I am black and korean too but I think she hasn’t sold herself out like many female artist have. She had been educated at one of the top schools in the states and always remains humble in all her interviews.

I hate when people say she isn’t successful. America is not the only place in the world HELLO!!!! and to be quite frank, the EURO is worth more than the dollar so I am glad she is making that money.

    Do your thing Amerie
