There have today been renewed calls for Pop phenomenon Lady GaGa to take a break from her hectic workload, following a shocking live showing in Auckland, New Zealand last night. While performing the night’s closer ‘Bad Romance’, the 23 year old star appeared ‘out of it’, forced to sit out (and at points lay flat) during the entire performance. Check out the video above…
Though kudos are most certainly due for the budding icon for finishing the performance, there really does come a point when one’s health and safety take pre-eminence over everything else – now being one of those times. Her rapid rise to prominence and dominance has been like no other in recent Pop history, and it appears the intensity of it all is getting to her physically. If GaGa has no ‘stop’ button, then perhaps those around her need to intervene before the situation becomes much more serious. I mean if longevity is what is being aimed for, then I’m sure her ‘monsters’ wouldn’t object to her taking time off – it is clearly needed.

Painful to watch. I was at Purdue when she had to postpone a show after collapsing beforehand. I found out later from my friend that she had worked out with my friend’s personal trainer earlier that day after having driven all night from Detroit for her 7th show in 8 nights. It’s an insane schedule. I saw her when she came back to Purdue 12 days later – great show. She runs her show and her life but she needs people to tell her to slow down. Thankfully, the Australian schedule is spread out with lots of breaks. Won’t do much good if she fills it up with interviews and tv performances. She needs sleep and pasta. I love her and want her to be around for decades, well after I’ve passed on.

I was waiting for a post that at least ponder the possibility of drug use. It seems like an obvious possibility. Exhaustion or starvation would be other obvious possibilities. I guess it was nice of Sam to give her the benefit of the doubt by not even mentioning drug use as a possible cause of her being “out of it” but I’m not sure others would have been shown such kindness.
Lady GaGa is fine. Her management have assured that she is in good health. IF YOU HAD LOOKED PROPERLY, You would have seen that over 100 concert go-ers passed out last night, due to the heat in the arena. Many also stated that the ventilation in the arena was very poor.
No wonder she & Beyonce get along so well. They both like their job so much they don’t know when to take time off to recharge their batteries.

I agree with MIKE, there was an incredible amount of backing vocals. enough to the point were it was comical to even pretend to sing. and the tone and texture when she did sing was a far cry from the backing vocal. Now, having said that, I do believe she needs to slow down a bit. This isnt the first time something like this has happened to her. And as crazy as she is, I would not be suprised if she partakes in drug use. just sayin….

She could well be on drugs and it doesn’t have to be just coke. A lot of celebrities take prescription drugs and considering a lot of GaGa’s interviews she could be depressed or suffer from anxiety. Meaning, she could be on anti-depressants such as Xanax. Whatever the case or whatever her drug of choice, she does appear to be “high”. No shade, I like her. I’m not her biggest fan but I do like her songs. She needs to get her act together though. Take a break and relax. Eat some cornbread.

And, have you guys not seen her tour schedule? She’s been working nearly every day without any breaks in between. The only off period she had lasted for a couple of weeks during the the holidays after Christmas. Then after she’s done with her last stretch of touring in late spring, she’s kicking off another American tour in late summer (August). She’s pretty over worked.
At the same time since you’re bringing them into this..Michael, Madonna, AND Rihanna had been worked to death with their touring schedules as well. Yet there are obviously differences amongst them all. Michael had fragile health for a long time, yet was still dedicated to his fans. Madonna has a body that is very capable of enduring s*** like that for long periods of time, hence why people started calling her a ‘t*****’ because she got so fit and toned over a few years. Then I’m very sure that Rihanna was at her wit’s end when it came to touring as well.
They’re all human and they’re going to obviously get tired. Drugs or not.
No one’s invincible. I was actually wondering when she was going to get sleepy. I read an article on how her body went insane and started swelling because some of the clothes she had on during a flight had a negative affect on her body, but she still kept her composure and refused to ‘tone it down’ when it came to fashion because that’s just who she is and she isn’t going to let other people tell her what to do.
