I always did want to ask you, honestly what you see in Rihanna.
How do people admire and artist so much that doesn’t care about her fans? When I say that I’m just referring to the lazy, lackluster performances she gives.
And if you strip her down, without the fashion she leans on (created be a stylist) without the backing track and extra vocals and vocal editing, without the glitter, explosion and pyrotechnics, with out the make-up and wacky weave trendy hair styles…do you really have anything of substance?
That can be said of a lot of ‘singers’ these days, but Rihanna is really the best example in my opinion. Here you have a cute girl, with what seems to be some interest and passion for making music…but she doesn’t show much in the way of that passion.
My overall annoyance is that she has good, dedicated, loyal fans and they really deserve something better than that. How can anyone call themselves a singer or entertainer and hold themselves to such a low standard?
To me the answer is, we DON’T ask for more! Before I label people on here haters, I get to the bottom of what they are really saying, and it’s that as fans and music-lovers…we demand MORE.
I don’t care is she’s a pop-tart or a pop-star. If you don’t always do well singing, dance. If you are not the best dancer, blow people away vocally. If you can’t do either of those things well, be something else. Don’t give me Rihanna, who was too big/thick and short to be a model so she became a singer.
Give me Beyonce, who has constantly improved upon her performance and vocal skills.
Give me Jazmine Sullivan….who can SANG.
Give me Lady Gaga, who is a big gimmick, but she puts on a BIG show!
Give me Jenifier Hudson, who knocks my socks off vocally.
Give me Sade Adu, who doesn’t have much range, but a beautiful tone.
And you mean to tell me Rihanna Robyn Fenty can’t even keep her balance on stage while she does a strut that someone taught her how to do? I can’t accept that Raychel…..

I’m not believing that. I just don’t think the stage was slippery. I agree, I don’t think it was that bad, it’s just I don’t think she had a reason to fall when she doesn’t do much on stage. I think she recovered well though! She played that ish off good!!!

@aunt Jackie there is something more. Something behind it. Rihanna is a great musician. She knows what her music means to her and she knows the importance of it. She knows what music truly is all about. But she’s scared. She’s scared to take on what she may think she can’t handle. And Rihanna can do it. She just dosent feel like she needs to right now. She feels like she’s on a good place. She feels like what she’s doing is enough. She’s afraid to go out of her comfert zone because she simply isn’t ready IMO.
She’s young. She dosent understand it fully but I think she’s learning. What do I see on her auntie Jackie? Her heart. Her strength. Everything that she’s went through and she’s here? That’s something. And you know what else? Her effort. And you are probably saying, why that? At least she is giving me something. At least she is trying to release music for us, and give us a tour. She could have just released rated r, did a few videos, and performed on a few tv shows. But she didn’t. She gave us a tour. Even if it’s just walking around and strutting. She says thank you to her fans. She says she loves them. And I think she means it. That’s all I need.
She knows her music. She knows what it means to her. And that’s important to me. You can sing a song, but do you know what it means? You can make an album, but do you know what it stands for? Rihanna does. And I appreciate it. A true artist dosent just make music for their health. They make it because it’s their passion and it means something to them. Even of they don’t write it themselves. That says something.
When she was young she didn’t have glitz and glamour. She had music from the sun. And then, she showed me why I’m a Stan today. She may can’t do the runs jaz does. She may can’t have the power bey does, and she may can’t put on a show like gaga. But you know wat she has? Heart. If she didn’t have it, she would have just stopped. That’s what I see on Rihanna. Heart. You can call her liar, you can call her a gimmick, you can call her anything you want but to me she will always be an amaZing musician because she never gave up and she was always determined and she stood throughout the pain. And that’s why I will always love and defend her. Forever.

That’s nice Raychel, we don’t agree about her heart…I think that’s what she lacks and that’s why she’s not progressing. Real talent develops and if you don’t have great talent in an area your heart will help you get better. I don’t see that, but it’s nice that you do. You are the type of fan that makes me say what I say, which is that you guys deserve more.

I respect your reasons for stanning for Rihanna, but actually your reasons for liking Rihanna are the exact reasons why I just can’t support her. I don’t think she has heart and her consistently PASSIONLESS performances further prove that. You’re right, you don’t have to write your music to express true heart, however, it’s just not the writing, it’s EVERYTHING. Releasing multiple albums, constant performances, promotions, phenomenal productions, “giving” her fans a tour (as you say) are all done by her PR/record label! I don’t think it’s her, I think it’s the people around her attempting to provide her fans with appreciation and I just don’t think much of what she does is authentic. Yeah she’s young but she’s been in the industry for years yet she still doesn’t improve vocally or performance/entertainment wise and that’s what I consider lack of heart. But that’s just a bit of my take on it, but I will say you are one of a few SANE Rihanna stans. 🙂
