Usher – ‘Versus’ EP Cover

Published: Saturday 24th Jul 2010 by Sam

Check out the official cover for Usher‘s new EP ‘Versus’. The record, which hits stores on August 24th, features collaborations with the likes of Jay-Z, Ciara, Bun B, and Pitbull.

The cover looks cheap as hell. I can’t hate on his label, though. From the tacky artwork, to the lack of any new promotional shots, it’s clear they aren’t spending money on anything they don’t need to,  especially when – given ‘Raymond vs Raymond‘s’ success – ‘Versus’ will likely be a big seller anyway. That said, where has the creativity gone?

    i don’t even know why i still come here everyday. sometimes sam just needs to shut the f*** up. the cover doesnt look cheap. from a visual standpoint its pretty graphic and clean and how many albums out now look similar to it? none that i can name off the top of my heads, which means it you will notice it on the shelf. yes its simple and any amateur photoshopper could produce this cover but it works. it couldve been worse

    It looks TOO DAMN CHEAP! If you put this cover next to the Raymond vs Raymond cover there is a clear difference. I honestly wouldn’t give this cover a second look if I saw it in a music store. Judging from the tracks I’ve heard I don’t think I’m gonna like it at all. Usher has sold out to a more pop/dance style and I DON’T approve!

    The color scheme reminds me of Kid Cudi’s “Mon Man” or whatever his album is called lol.
    Except Kids cover was interesting & Ushers cover just looks basic as f*ck.

    I like the colors!

    I don’t think most of these songs are going to make the final cut of the album. I don’t think this is the official artwork either. Please Usher Get rid of some of the leaked songs, keep some like stranger and lay u down but make something more massive that the world will enjoy. I know you will do extremely well and sell over 2 million units in the U.S. by the time this era is done and please release some more pop friendly singles like stranger, Guilty, etc. Then things will be back to normal for you.

    BORING

  19. mishka July 25, 2010

    Raymond vs Raymond had a moderate success maybe due to the fact the first singles didn’t appeal the audience until “OMG”(even if I don’t like this song) and “There goes my baby” came out. The new EP is more about catching up this “fail”

    I miss the “Confessions” Usher. I know he’s aging and he’s not as cheerful as he used to be since the divorce but I need that confessing guy back.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    the key word here is “yet” and so far it has been successful in this dying industry.
