A new song from J.Cole has just surfaced. The track, ‘It Won’t Be Long’, was produced by the rapper himself and will be featured the Lime Lights Exclusive mixtape. Give the track a listen below via Sermon:
This is the kind of talent Hip-Hop has been missing. J.Cole is a storyteller of a rare breed – one who manages to maintain a steady flow over the beat without trying to use tactless metaphors or similes to sound catchy. Artists like him and Drake help us to realise that Hip-Hop is not dead; it has merely been on sabbatical.

I love Trent!
J cole is the truth! Finally a contemporary rapper rapping about substance! Loves it!
I Love J.COle, Been listening to him for a while now. The Warm Up is Good…..Can’t wait for his album.
Even tho i stan for Pop Stars (lol) im an advent fan of Quality Hip Hop and Rock (mostly Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, etc.)
OMG i f***** love J cole! and trent lol
*Sigh*…I love J.Cole 🙂 ….
There are plenty of lyrical artists in hip hop with substance and J Cole nor Drake are amongst the best of them! Lupe, Kanye, Nas and Black Thought (from The Roots) just to name a few are way more lyrical and have great substance in their music. Distant Relatives by Nas and Damian Marley and How I Got Over by The Roots are two of the BEST hip hop albums this year!
^^^Not the best, but one of the best. Its funny you mention Nas because he’s my second favorite rapper.(With Tupac being #1 🙂 )
“Wow…horrible” speaks truth!! J. Cole is talented but lets not look over the others that CLEARLY paved the way for his style. Drake is just a pop rapper like Bow Wow LMAO
He’s gonna take the rap game by force! buhlee dat!
its okay
can some one ansa this queston fo me?
why did the U.S. ignore Macy Gray’s comeback “beauty in the worl”? and why did the U.K ignore Jennifer Rush’s comeback “echoes love”……..?????????????????
All the way real, J. Cole is one of the best in the game. And Wow…Horrible, I can agree with you on those picks for lyricism, but J.Cole and Drake are 2 different artists. #1, Drake has strayed away from what he used to sound like, he didn’t sound anything like this, I mean his style is now Young Money. #2, all I gotta say is listen to The Come Up and The Warm up, and you will see what it is. The mixtapes are crazy and something you can actually LISTEN to and not tolerate. He actually raps, produces his own beats, AND writes his own lyrics. I’m sorry, that’s hard to find nowadays! He FINISHED college just to do music, and he said if the rap thing didn’t work, he’d go right back for his master’s. This is a real dude not posing like DRAKE’s trash ass.
Why don’t J cole go ahead and put out a CD instead of keep doing mixtapes? He’s already known now. His productions go hard too in my opinion
@HIP HOP POLICE
His debut album is actually scheduled for an October release. Mixtapes keep the real fans happy and generate buzz for any upcoming albums. I got into J. Cole through his mixtapes “The Come Up” and “The Warm Up” as did many people.
Can we stop comparing J. Cole to ppl 10+ years in the game, it’s not fair, his first album ain’t even dropped yet lol. Hopefully, 10 years from now, we can put him up there with legends like Nas & The Roots
